2. Patination Oil
• Developed by the UK Lead & Building
Industry.
• Prevents unsightly white carbonate
stains.
How To Use
1. Apply the Patination Oil as soon as
you have laid the lead sheet.
2. Ensure the lead is as dry as possible.
3. Using a soft, clean cloth, apply the
oil into the lead in a single coat.
Patination Oil won’t clean existing
dirt or stains, for that you need our
easy-to-use Cleaning Gel.

3. Cleaning Gel
• Improves the look of lead and
restores it’s natural lustre.
• Easily removes dirt, grime and stains,
including very old stains.
How To Use
1. Use a nylon brush or fine wire wool
to apply the gel.
2. Stronger or more ground-on stains
might require a little more work.
Treated lead will retain its good
looks for decades.
Supplied in 1 litre non-spill bottles.

4. Lead Sealant
• Ensures a long lasting, flexible joint
between the lead and masonry or
brickwork.
• Quicker and easier to apply than
mortar. Watertight and permanent.
How To Use
1. Typically, flashings were held in
place with lead wedges and sealed
with mortar.
2. Nowadays, the easy way to do it is to
use a lead sealant joint instead.
Lead Sealant is often used together
with our ML Fixing Clips.

6. Lead Underlay
• Non-woven polyester felt underlay,
designed specifically for lead roofing
work.
• Protects against corrosion, moisture,
sagging and puncturing.
How To Use
1. The rolls are supplied in lengths of
25mx1m.
2. Cut to size and lay the underlay
where the lead will be.
3. The underlay will provide an
extremely smooth, even surface to
work on.
Lead underlay is often used and
ordered together with our Wood
Core Rolls.

7. Wood Core Roll
• Form lead work joints easily in areas
where there will be foot traffic.
• Treated against rot.
Sizes
• Our softwood timber rolls come in
standard roll dimensions.
• The rolls come in lengths of 1.2m or
2.4m.
• Shorter lengths are easier to
transport and can be purchased as
individual units, 2.4m length rolls
need a minimum order of 20 units.

ordered together with our Lead
Underlay or Building Paper.

• Provides a great finishing touch.
How To Use
1. Use strips where you have used lead
flashings to ensure they stay secure,
even in high winds.
2. Use lead domes to create a
wonderfully smooth finish wherever
you need to hide unsightly screws.
3. Use lead motifs to give a unique,
beautiful finish.

9. ML Fixing Clips
• Fix lead joints into masonry joints
significantly quicker and easier as an
alternative to lead wedges.
• Widely regarded as being 20 times
faster than creating and inserting
lead wedges.
How To Use
1. Use where you would normally use a
lead wedge while installing lead roof
flashings.
2. The ML Fixing Clips will provide a
much easier way to affix lead
flashing.
