Tentang rip
• Routing Protocol distance-vector
• Penentuan jalur berdasarkan jumlah hop
• Maximum 16 hop (run=15 hop)
• Update routing setiap 30 sec.
• Baik untuk jaringan kecil
Penentuan Jalur
RIPv1 vs RIPv2
RIP Timers
• Routing Update Timer (30 sec)
 waktu untuk update routing yang periodic, router mengirim salinan routing table
nya ke router tetangga
• Router Invalid Timer (180 sec)
 Router dikatakan tidak valid apabila tidak meng-update dalam jangka waktu yang
di tentukan
• Hold down Timer (180 sec)
 Menahan lama informasi ditahan apabila router tidak meng-update
• Router flush Time (240 sec)
 Waktu untuk menentukan sebuah jaringan di hapus dari routing table
Standard configure RIP
• Memulai proses rip
• Memakai RIPv2, jika tidak, default RIPv1
• Menetapkan Network yang akan di tukarkan dengan Router Lain
