2. Our story, as told before, began when Mistah Wilson created
ThaWilsonBlock Magazine in February 2013. It started out as
creative project. Something that would challenge my creativity and
force me to find ways of reinventing myself. And for the past 36
month, we’ve been faithfully releasing a new issue of our magazine.
ThaWilsonBlock Magazine Issue35 featuring Culver City, California
wasn’t our best piece of work.Though innovative, we admit, it
came with dead links and misplaced photos. But, it played a very
crucial role in our transition as a publication. thawilsonMAG
Issue35 is our first ever issue to receive over 500+ downloads in
one week.
With the release of Issue36, we are entering a new phase of
publication. Our magazine now works as a publisher & distributor
in one single PDF. We are excited for the future of ThaWilsonBlock
Magazine. And you should be, too! Because it’s here to stay

12. At a day & age like this, we had to take this time out to honor a special person. A person whom we’ve never met in
person. A person we discovered on facebook. A person…on the other side of the country…
His name is Clifford Ryan and he is making it clear that he is an OG Against Violence! The reason we felt the need
to give Mr. Ryan the spotlight was because he is doing exactly what we expect from our elders. Our big homies.
Our OG’s. Clifford has been very active in the community getting people involved by having them post photos of
unity while holding a sign that says “OGs Against Violence”. And he’s even got the kids involved!
One thing is for certain: Clifford Ryan understands the importance of setting a proper example for our youth and
aspiring artists. It is clear that he also understands the power in a picture. In fact, Clifford’s movement is so
active that it inspired this article. We included some screenshots of Ryan’s community outreach work. It is
imperative that we work towards a solution for the sake of our children’s future.
“The youth really want to change if you reach out to them,” says Clifford Ryan in a facebook post about10 young
people taking a unity photo holding the sign. “This is the proof. Stop the violence.” What makes all of this so cool
is that Clifford recognizes that even the kids want to be united. And he’s gone to the extent of making
appearances with city officials like the mayor and chief of police.
“Some of my older homeboys can learn a lot of Clifford,” says Mistah Wilson. “To see my elder stand for the cause
of young people gives me hope for a better tomorrow.” For young, positive men & women in our communities, it
means something to see our OG’s involved for the betterment of the next generation. This is what is expected if we
are to strive to become a better individuals.
Clifford Ryan’s

14. We don’t have to be helpless. The Canadian government
has set up a system whereby groups of private citizens
are permitted to raise money and sponsor a refugee
family.
For 12 months, the sponsors are responsible for the refugee
family’s financial and social well-being.They do everything from
picking up the family at the airport, to providing them with
housing, food and even clothing. The Canadian private refugee
sponsorship program lets citizens play a larger role in the
resettlement program. It also takes some of the financial burden
of refugee resettlement off the taxpayers.
This crisis calls for such innovation, and the US
government should follow suit and create a similar
program. Please join me in asking the State
Department to allow private citizens and organizations
to sponsor refugees, so that we as a nation can help save
more people, even faster.
When we rely solely on government-sponsored refugee
relocation, we can only accept a very small pool of
people in need. Even those people encounter roadblocks
to success because of the minimal financial support they
receive from the government.
I believe there are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of
Americans just like me who would be willing to make a year-
long sacrifice in order to make a difference in the lives of some
of the world's most vulnerable communities.
A refugee in the midst of resettlement should have a
community of people behind them who have a vested
interest in their success as a new resident.
Justice for Tamir Rice
Sign this Petition
Tamir Rice was only 12-years-old when he was shot and
killed last year by a Cleveland police officer as he played
in a park with a toy gun. Timothy Loehmann, an officer in
training, shot and killed Tamir within two seconds of
arriving at the park. The police car hadn’t even fully
stopped before he began shooting.
He shot my little cousin so quickly it would have
been impossible for him to tell Tamir to drop the
toy airsoft gun, much less for Tamir to respond to
them.
Tamir’s killing was captured on camera. That should
have been all that was needed to charge the officer. But
next month marks a full year since his death and the
County Prosecutor, Timothy McGinty, has still not even
presented this case to a grand jury to determine if
charges will be filed against the officers.
This is unacceptable.Timothy McGinty needs to
be replaced with a special prosecutor, who are
used in high-profile cases, to ensure that there
isn’t bias.
Our family believes that McGinty is clearly biased and in
favor of the officers. This week he released two “expert”
reviews which sided with the officers even though
neither of the review writers had even
interviewed the officers.
Please join Tamir’s family in calling for a special
prosecutor to be appointed to this case.

36. Kathleen McGuinness is creative director
& illustrator for McGraphics Design, Inc. — mcgraphics.us —
and a long time a fan of Rolling Stone Magazine portraits. She
believes that drawing is the backbone of painting portraits.
Her current project is painting 1960s & 1970s musicians —
mcgraphics.us/music. Each painting starts with choosing the
musician, recently Eric Clapton, reading about the artist,
listening to his music and studying his facial structure. At that
point she does concept design drawings. A digital or scanned
drawing is following by painting, often started in Affinity
Designer or Affinity Photo software programs. The painting is
then shifted to Photoshop CS6. When finished each painting
goes up on mcgraphics.us/music and out to social media.
