2. Basic Events
● Okonkwo went to Mbanta his mother's homeland, he
was greeted by his uncle Uchendu (the same place
where Okonkwo’s mother was buried)
● Okonkwo had to restart and had less inspiration, lose
of passion ( to become one of the lords of the clan)

6. Terms
Ochu- murder or manslaughter
Isa- ifi Ceremony- If a wife had been separated from her
husband for some time and were then to be re-united
with him, this ceremony would be held to ascertain
that she had not been unfaithful to him during the time
of their separation
Umuada- a family gathering of daughters, for which the
female kinsfolk return to their village of origin
