ABSTRACT
iv
The outbreak of covid-19 is an acute reminder that pandemics, like other rare accidents, have
occurred in the past, and will continue to occur in the future. Even if we cannot avoid out
bounding dangerous viruses, we should be prepared to grey their effects on society. The
current epidemic has had significant economic implications across the globe and no nation
appears to be unaffected by it. In covid-19 more than 20 million people affected and more
than 9 lakh people death. The present condition is not well. Everyday 1.5 to 2.5 lakh people
affected and many people death. This situation greatly impacts on business and its continuity.
Business sectors cannot continue their business as before. That’s why the economic condition
decrease day by day. Many businesses already banish and many industries are now close
their activities. Social distancing, restriction in workplace, travel restrictions have leads to a
reduce workforce. Many one loses their work. Production system are changed and working
system changed. That’s why customers cannot find their desire product timely. Demand
increase and supply decrease. In this research paper, researcher try to identify the clear
evidence about business and its growth in covid-19 pandemic situation. Online survey doing
this research to collect date and 105 respondent response. Most of the respondents are agree
about my opinion and they gave their opinion differently.
Keywords: Covid-19, Business and growth, social distancing, travel and business restriction,
supply and demand, pandemic.

CHAPTER: 1
1: Introduction:
Rear of pandemic outbreaks has been around for a long time. The debate did not concentrate
about when an outbreak would occur, but when new outbreaks occur (Esveld,2004). Covid-
19 has suddenly changed the world, and our way of life. It is becoming more and more
necessary in these unpredictable times for companies to remain in the business sector. As the
world population is increasing day by day and that’s why we need to live closer to the
animals. And that is why there would be a much more regular transmission of new viruses to
the human population. The covid-19 pretends to pose incredible challenges to global public
health and the global economy and market structure. The present businesses situation and
before covid-19 situation is not same. Now everyone stays in a danger and always try to keep
their businesses safe. But it is not possible to close the business activities or do work properly.
Workers stay in home and work their activities but in other businesses like as hotel business,
tourism business face very critical moment. They cannot work at home because without
tourist tourism industry cannot continue. It is very difficult to continue business and this
covid-19 has a great impact on global public health and world economy and businesses.
Because of covid-19 economic situation, the market environment, the structure of the
company’s activities has changed. Many business leaders realized that business demand or
product demand fall sharply due to social distancing or experienced supply disruption.
Because of lock down income level, revenue and cast level has changed. As we are now
middle of a pandemic and we don't know when this pandemic close or we don’t know its
long-time effects. In past, society face many pandemics and overcome those pandemics.
Pandemics seem to have occurred at 10-50 years FRO following the emergence of new viral
re-assortment subtypes (Potter, 2001). The limited studies that do exist indicate that usually
the big historical pandemics of the last millennium were related to subsequent low asset
returns (Jorda, 2020). The covid-19 pandemic has forced many businesses to close because
of low supply of raw materials and proper supply chain. Many business and manufacturing
industries cannot run their activities because of lower supply and products. When a pandemic
situation occurs, it creates a great impact on business and its growth. In covid-19 pandemic
many businesses are now close and they cannot continue their business. Retailers and brands
2
face many short-term challenges such as health and safety, supply chain, workforce, cash
flow, consumer demand and so on. Many markets especially hotel and tourism sectors are no
longer exist. In travel Industries 80% of hotel room are now empty (Bangladesh perspective).
In airlines cut their 90% workforce (all over the world). Some businesses are now trying to
continue their business. They struggling and some businesses are thriving. This is true for a
number of internet-based business such as those related to online entertainment, online food
deliver, online shopping and other online based businesses. The ongoing pandemic of the
covid-19 has caused damage to global commerce and education. The covid-19 pandemic
viewpoint in Bangladesh creates a great impact on the field of industry. Particularly RMG
sectors, sectors of travel, tourism. In the covid-19 case RMG industries in Bangladesh have
cancelled almost 3 million order and lost many product orders. Around 2 million workers
will be affected by this. In all over the world this pandemic spread and it create a great
impact on business. In all over the world export import transection has been closed. For this
reason, many businesses and financial lose occur. But due to covid-19 business are getting
more fastest and safest then before. Throughout the world one things remains in peoples
mind that is virus infection and that is why they obey laws, rules and regulation and another
required sign. Covid-19 impacts not only industries but also everything’s in the world. This
covid-19 play a great impact on businesses and its growth. Businesses owner lost customers
and production and delivery system is changed. The piece of the product increase and its fall
in great impact on customers’ mind. Safety and security should be maintaining and to
continue the business activities government subsidy and financial support needed.

2: Literature Review
Because of COVID-19 business are getting safer than before. Some business has completed a
COVID-19 safety plan to save and secure their business. Not just now but after covid-19 the
business situation shall comply with these rules and regulations and with those safety plans.
Covid-19 is a global pandemic and we know that a lot of pandemics happened in the previous
decade like as Ebola, Cholera, Flu and many other illnesses. In the history of Ebola virus, it
impacts on business like as today’s situation. People maintain safety and always want safe
and secure products and they try to keep secure. In that situation business environment,
condition was changed and people follow health related tips. Many businesses will banish
because of Ebola virus. The EVD has in the entire world seriously affected the economy and
the business market. There was a huge opportunity to spread this human virus to humans and
that is why people were worried about their health. When Ebola virus spread across the world,
most of the country gave trade and transport restriction for prevents the virus transmission.
That could mean the limit of goods moving within a country. The Flu of 1918 was the
world’s last truly global pandemic. Roughly 500 million people were infected at that time
and 50-100 million people were died. Both business and industrial sectors were closed.
Sporting events and public private meeting were strictly discouraged. In business sectors a
big shift is coming. Employee safety and security was maintained that time and companies
are always trying to maintain the protection. The same situation now exists in covid-19 as
with another pandemic. The government announced in late April his intention to
progressively allow businesses to reopen through a phased work safe enable. But every
business sector maintains and follows the rules and regulations. Every employee should
maintain social distance and follow instruction. All from social distance, procedures, tracking
and checking and the availability of personal protective measures equipment (PPE) must be
addressed in order to conduct the work properly. Peter Cappelli, a professor of management
and director of the Wharton Schools Human Resources Center at the University of
Pennsylvania (9 April 2020), said that people are not cautious in rural areas and that
4
everyone in the business sector is not warning about covid-19.If everyone properly maintains
all rules and regulations, then it has a great chance to recover COVID-19 and businesses are
getting more safe and secure. Not only now but also in all pandemic business structure and
business safeties were increased. Before COVID-19 workers work randomly and freely but
now at this situation business are run by online. Companies conduct their business meeting
via online. Because of health safety everyone in business follow this rules that provide by the
country’s government. In this situation works also realize that it is not the proper time to
work in office because it has a great chance to spread of COVID-19. Some businesses are
open but the follow the proper guidelines and proper safety plan. Authorities are careful
about safety related issues and maintain guideline. Every pandemic had a great impact on
business and its growth. Business condition its operating systems and its growth has been
change by pandemic. Due to COVID-19 economic condition and business condition also
changed. Many business organizations already received funds from government and other
financial institution and many businesses already stop to conduct its business. Because of
COVID-19 in Bangladesh perspective many business organizations are closed and now they
trying to operate their business via online. At that time the online business growth is
increasing day to day. Peoples are now interested to purchase product from online and they
believe that it is safer to direct purchase at this situation. The world working conditions are
affected by this pandemic. The pandemic is severely affecting labor markets, economies and
industries, including global supply chains, leading to widespread business disruptions of
industry. In this pandemic many well-known brands and many industries are closed down
because consumers remain at home and economies are being shut down (Tucker, 2020).
Before covid-19 investors and businessman are trying to invest many businesses sectors but
when a global pandemic occurs, they are not investing. At this situation business continuity
are slow down and it is not possible to continue many businesses. Government authorities
give restriction in many business sites. Employees customers are stay in home and they
cannot go outside the home. So many companies are stop their operating system because no
supply they find. Without supply how can they produce products. Another reason is that
business owners cannot find large customers and their sales decreases. Without sales they
cannot continue their business. Without production, sales, supply business growth are shut
5
down and its greatly impact on all over the world. Export import are closed and many
organizations businesses are facing financial crisis.
2.1: Online Platform:
Because of covid-19 most of the company or business industries are now conducting their
business activities via online. Online shopping, online transaction, online meeting is
increasing day by day because of covid-19. In this situation e- commerce growth is changing
the overall business structure. Most of the businesses are struggling to continue their business.
Now in this situation business authorities believe that online activities are more suitable and
appropriate. Most of the biggest companies are now conducting their activities their
operation via online to retain their business. It’s very hard for newly arrived companies but
without online business it is too tough to retain business properly.
2.2: Safety and Security:
Due to covid-19 business are now more safe and secure. In workplace people maintain rules
and proper guideline. In business sectors companies realized that online delivery system and
online services are safer in covid-19 situation. In many shopping malls, retail shops without
mask customers cannot allow to enter or purchase. Everyone should maintain distance and
follow instruction. Safety and security impact on workplace. When work environment are
safe and secure employees are freely work this place and its impact on production. When
production increase company’s sales increase economic condition changes.
2.3: Production System:
In this situation production and delivery site are change. In this uncertain pandemic people
are concern about health. In business companies now produce products which are necessary
in this situation and they try to serve this via online home deliver. Because home delivery is
safer and it reduce the spread of covid-19. At that time companies need to do a various and
more robust plans for an extraordinary disruption of the supply chain in covid-19 (Ivanov and
Ivanov and Dolgui, 2020a and 2020b). in this situation no single country can be expected to
6
produce efficiently all the goods needed to combat the covid-19 pandemic. Companies are
trying to manufacture product in covid-19 scenario but supply chain and due to lower labor
and financial resources production costs are high (Farrell and Newman, Europe 2020)
2.4: Prices Fluctuation:
Because of covid-19 price of domestic and foreign products are increasing. If products price
is increasing people buy less product and give less concertation about products purchase.
There is a relation about sales and profits. If sales increase profits increase. So, in this
situation company cannot sell more product and their business activities are slow down. A
challenge to this approach, and price measurement in general during the Covid-19 crisis, is
that certain goods and services are temporarily not available or transferable. This proper
focuses on expected price changes for continuing firms which in our view ease this concern.
Furthermore, using transection data to account for shifts in existing trends of spending.
cavallo (2020) reveals that official inflation estimates are skewed upward by just 0.09
percentage points compared to real inflation in Germany
2.5: Sales:
Due to covid-19 offline sales are decrease and online sales are increasing day by day. People
are now interested to purchase product via online because of covid-19. To reduce the spread
of covid-19 customer are using e- payment in every sector. But offline sales and its growth
decrease. And now price of every products is high and business condition is not well.
Business cannot continue their activities because of low purchases and limited buyers. For
example, before covid-19 customers go to shop and purchase products. Side by side if the
saw any products they buy this product instantly. But now customers have no Interest to go
outside the home and purchase product. So, sales are decrease and profits also decrease.
2.6: Business Continuity:
Because of covid-19 most of the businesses are now narrowly continue and most of the
businesses are close. Because they have no ability to continue this business at this situation.
7
Low sales, high products price is responsible for this. To continue those, stop business again
government subsidy and helps are needed. Without any financial help many businesses are
banish and economic situation decrease day by day. Most of the business’s owner canceled
their order, deal, meeting because of covid-19. The effect of a crisis or catastrophe on an
organization should be of great concern to entrepreneurs as it affects current and future
success of business. Statistics have shown that about 75% of companies without a continuity
plan would fail after a disaster or crisis occurs within three years. (Quarantelli, 2007))
suggest the importance of disaster and crisis management and planning processes. Business
continuity strategy is usually paired with a crisis recovery plan that includes restoration and
resumption of operations (Cook,2015). (Binder, 2020) shows that 30% - 40% of Americans
are very concerned about the corona crisis, postponed travel and delayed purchases of larger
ticket items as early as March 2020 but became more optimistic about the unemployment
situation and revised their inflation expectations downwards when they learned of the
reduction in the target federal funds rate on 3rd March. Fetzer et al. (2020) demonstrate that
the introduction of the corona virus in a nation leads to a major rise in internet searches
worldwide.
2.7: Delivery System:
To reduce the spread of covid-19 many businesses authorities are creating home delivery
services. Because at this situation consumers are stay in home and they cannot go outside the
house and that why companies take this step. To follow this step business, increase their sales
and profit. Online delivery is essayist process and companies easily capture value from
customer and increase their goodwill. Online delivery changes products sales and supply. For
example: At this situation most of the customers or consumers are stay home and they have
no intention to go to market and purchase products. But when they hear that it has a
possibility that companies delivery man reach you product without maintaining safety
customers easily purchase their favorite products.
2.8: Objectives:
8
The main purpose of this report is to investigate the effect of covid-19 pandemic on business
and its growth. In this research paper researcher try to analysis the effect of the current
situation on business sectors during covid-19. Another objective of this research is to
evaluate how businesses are reaching their customers in this situation. To identify how dose
covid-19 pandemic effect business and how this covid-19 effect on business growth. How
companies or businesses overcome or cope with in this situation
2.9: Hypothesis:
H0: There is no relationship between effect of covid-19 on business and its growth.
H1: There is a relationship between effect of covid-19 on business and its growth.

3: ResearchMethodology:
Analysis methodology relates directly to the practical “HOW” the researcher wants about to
decide: -
Which data to collect and want information to disregard?
Who is to collect it from (this is called sampling design in research?
Who is collect it (this is called method of gathering data)?
How to interpret it (so that is called method of data analysis)?
The methodology included research design, study population, sample size, measurement and
scaling, data collection, questionnaire, and data analysis.
3.1: ResearchDesign:
In this study, at first quantitative research has been conducted to gain a primary
understanding the effect of covid-19 on business and its growth. The types of information
that is required for this research is mainly primary and much of the data collect from primary
sources. A conclusive research design was used in this research paper because conclusive
research design is more successful and systematic then other research design.
3.2: Sources of Data:
The data has been focused on both the main and secondary data sources. Secondary data
sources work first, and much of the data obtained from primary sources through structure
questionnaires and personal interview. In this research collecting secondary data from
different national and international magazines, journals and articles.
10
3.3: Data Collection Method:
Researcher was collecting data from friends, family and neighbor in this study. Participants
both are male and female and they were deemed to be interested in this study. Most of the
data obtain from online survey because in this covid-19 pandemic, it is not possible to go
outside the home and collect data by person to person. Online survey is the easiest process
and less time consuming. method of quantitative analysis offers a reasonable inexpensive,
quick and effective way of collecting large information. The secondary data collect from
google scholar, research gate and so on.
3.4: Sample Size and Technique:
Most of the data collected from online google survey and about 105 respondents gave their
personal opinion in this study. Respondents were both male and female. Researcher use one
sampling technique in this research paper and this sampling technique is convenience
sampling technique. It is one of the non-probability sampling procedure. But why researcher
used this method? Because non- probability sampling technique is one of the easiest and less
time-consuming technique. And it also less expensive. Among the several ways of non-
probability sampling convenience sampling technique has been used because it is easy and
readily available and the cost of this technique is low. 105 respondent’s response in this
research project.
3.5: Measurement and Scaling:
This survey was done by using non-comparative scaling method. The respondents measure
only one item at a time in a non-comparative scaling method and thus non- comparative
scales are also referred to as nomadic scales. A five-point Likert scale statement was used to
11
measure the variables where 1 stands for strongly disagree, 2 stands disagree, 3 stands neutral,
4 stands agree and 5 stands for strongly agree.
3.6: Questionnaire Design:
In this research paper there have two section,
1: demographic section
2: opinion section
3.6.1: Demographic Section: Name, age, gender, occupation is the part of demographic
section. In demographic section respondents using nominal scale.
3.6.2: Opinion Section: It is the main part of questionnaire. Respondent gave their opinion
based on different question. They gave their personal opinion about business and its growth
in covid-19 situation
12
CHAPTER: 4
4: Data Analysis and Findings:
Gender, age, occupation is the part of demographic variables and a descriptive analysis is
used for this part. The opinion of the respondents regarding effect of covid-19 pandemic on
business and to its growth was analyzed by using statistical package for social science (SPSS)
version 20.0. The sociable and vatic analysis were applied to present the result in a manner
that meets the purpose of the study. Multiple regression analysis has been employed to
examine the associative relationships between the dependent variable and seven independent
variables. One regression equation has been given there to estimate the effect of covid-19
pandemic on business and to its growth. The multiple regression equation is given below: -
ŷ = a + β1 X1 + β2 X2 + β3 X3 + β4 X4 + β5 X5+ β6 X6+ β7 X7
Where, ŷ represent business growth, α represent intercept Value (Slope), β’s represents
regression coefficient, X1 represent online platform, X2 represent safe and security, X3
represent price fluctuation, X4 represent production system, X5 represent delivery system, X6
represent sales and X7 represent business continuity.
The study basically intended to find out the present situation of business and to its growth.
We know that we are in critical moment and we don’t know the long-time effect of this
pandemic. This research also gives an insight on how online platform, safety and security,
price fluctuate, production system, delivery system, sales and business continuity effect the
business growth and its activities.
The analysis and finding of the respondents (demographic part) are show in table 01 through

The second part of demographic variables was age. In this section there have total 5 division.
(15-20) years had 5 respondents and it was 4.8 percent of overall respondent. Most of the
respondents age stay in (21-25) years. Total 93 respondents age were 21-25 and it was 88.6
percent of overall respondent. In (26-30) years division 6 respondents and it was 5.7 percent

respondents stay in (36- above).
In occupation part, 92 respondents were students and it was 87.6 percent of total respondents.
Eight (8) people were employees and it was 7.6 percent. Businessmen were 4 and it was 3.8
percent of overall respondent. Only one respondent was other and it was just 1% percent of
total respondent.
To find out the purpose of the study, the respondent’s response regarding the effect of covid-
19 pandemic on business and to its growth was analyzed by using predictive analysis.

4.1: Predict Relationship between Factors and Business Growth:
In predictive analysis regression model was used to examine the relationship between the
dependent and seven (7) independent variables.
Table 0.2 indicate that the value of correlation coefficient, R= .528(from table 02) suggests
that there is positive correlation between dependent variable and independent variables. Here
dependent variable is business and to its growth and independent variables are business
continuity, price fluctuation, safety and security, sales, online platform, production system,
and delivery system. However only 27.9% (R square value 0.279) variation in business and
to its growth is accounted due to business continuity, price fluctuation, safety and security,
sales, online platform, production system, and delivery system. The adjusted r square is .227
(from table 02) expose that the seven (7) factors can significantly account for 22.7% variance
in business and to its growth.
Hence the test is significant,

4.2: Confirm the Model Fitness (Analysis of Variance)
Here the ANOVA table determines that the relationship between dependent and independent
variables is statistically significant which is below (0.05) at the 5 percent (5%) significant
level (0.000 < 0.05). So, the seven (7) factors strongly influence the business and to its
growth during covid-19. Again, the f value calculation exposes that f- calculated value is
5.358 (from table 03) and ta f-critical value is 2.11 (from 7 0f 97 degree of freedom). In this
calculation we see that the calculated f value is more than f-critical value, which leads the
acceptance of alternative hypothesis of the study.

The result of multiple regression analysis in table 04 that expose performance as the vital
factors which significantly influence business and to its growth. (β2= .341; t- value =3.720; P
< 0.05) it indicates that safety and security is influence business and to its growth during
covid-19. The next factor is delivery system which also influenced business and to its growth
during covid-19. (β5 =.203; t- value = 2.113; P < 0.05). Next sales are the key factor which
considerably influence business and to its growth. (β6 =.212; t- value = 2.247; P < 0.05). As a
result, sales influence business and to its growth in covid-19. The next one is production
system which is negatively influence business and to its growth. (β4 = -.198; t- value = -2.137;
P < 0.05). The rest of the factors negatively and insignificantly influence business and to its
growth during covid-19. Online platform negatively and insignificantly influence business
and to its growth. (β1 = -.068; t- value = -.738; P > 0.05). It indicates that it has no effect on
business and to its growth during covid-19. Next price fluctuation insignificantly influences
the business and to its growth. (β3 = .178; t- value = 1.916; P > 0.05). The next one is

0.159 (Price fluctuation) + (-0.183) (Production system) + 0.214 (Delivery system) +0.201
(Sales) + 0.004 (Business continuity.

CHAPTER: 5
5.1: Limitation:
This research data collects from online survey and from many articles and google. But this all
data is not appropriate every time. There have some mistake or gap. Sample size and sample
area are small. Most of the respondents are student and they fill up the survey paper. It is not
sure that, are they read the questionnaire on not? In this research, research work just only
online survey and skip many factors such as economic factor, financial factor and so on. So,
in further any one tries to doing research in this topic they should use this factor and if they
use those factors, they find better result. Side by side they should use not only just
questionnaire but also face to face communication, field work and so on. Large amount of
respondent helps to find out better result.
5.2: Recommendations:
In this research, one result come in hand. This result is null hypothesis rejected. Most of the
factor’s influence the dependent variables. This research result may be helpful both
companies, manufacturers and also customers. Companies pay attention about those factors
which influence business growth. If manufacturer industries pay attention about this result it
very helpful from them. They easily know about production supply; product delivery and
which things is helpful for them. Customer also helpful if they follow and analysis this result.
They easily know about market condition, supply and demand, price and so other
information. In covid-19 pandemic situation businesses should be more careful and create a
plane to operate their activities. Government and big financial institution must be pay
attention to help the middle level businesses because without help those businesses cannot be
run. If businesses cannot run properly a country economic situation will fall down. In covid-
19 pandemic many organizations close their business and many companies deduct their
19
employees and that’s why unemployment rate of a country increase. So, reduce every bad
situation in covid-19 pandemic different rules and different strategies should be taken. In this
research paper seven factors are identified and almost four factors are highly influence
business during covid-19 situation. But without those factors, many factors are stay in the
field of business. Businesses authorities always pay attention about their employees and
business environment. Not only now but also after recovery this pandemic because safe and
secure environment encourage employees to work properly. Maintain all rules and regulation
all businesses should run properly and maintain customers satisfaction. Because customers
are the live of any business. Not only businesses owners but also all people should maintain
WHO (World Health Organization) rules and continue their activities. It is not possible
suddenly to recover the total loss of business field that’s occur because of covid-19. So, step
by step world businesses recover this lose and everything will control.
1: Increase coverage of government initiatives and programs to help the business companies
and industries.
2: Government always try to monitoring the situation.
3: Allow banks and other financial institutions to restructure bank lending and offer less
interest on the loan.
4: Government should pay more for the concentration of those undertakings which are
already in close proximity or have no capital to continue the company.
5: All businesses should practice and ensuring more safe and secure work place to protect
their workers and customers from covide-19.
6.As online platform insignificantly affect the business growth organization should give less
concern about this.
7: Businesses organization should give more concern on production system in this covid-19
situation.
8: Businesses organization should pay more attention on sales to continue their business
growth.

  • 4. iv The outbreak of covid-19 is an acute reminder that pandemics, like other rare accidents, have occurred in the past, and will continue to occur in the future. • 8. CHAPTER: 1 1: Introduction: Rear of pandemic outbreaks has been around for a long time. The debate did not concentrate about when an outbreak would occur, but when new outbreaks occur (Esveld,2004). Covid- 19 has suddenly changed the world, and our way of life. It is becoming more and more necessary in these unpredictable times for companies to remain in the business sector. As the world population is increasing day by day and that’s why we need to live closer to the animals. And that is why there would be a much more regular transmission of new viruses to the human population. The covid-19 pretends to pose incredible challenges to global public health and the global economy and market structure. The present businesses situation and before covid-19 situation is not same. Now everyone stays in a danger and always try to keep their businesses safe. But it is not possible to close the business activities or do work properly. Workers stay in home and work their activities but in other businesses like as hotel business, tourism business face very critical moment. They cannot work at home because without tourist tourism industry cannot continue. It is very difficult to continue business and this covid-19 has a great impact on global public health and world economy and businesses. Because of covid-19 economic situation, the market environment, the structure of the company’s activities has changed. Many business leaders realized that business demand or product demand fall sharply due to social distancing or experienced supply disruption. Because of lock down income level, revenue and cast level has changed. As we are now middle of a pandemic and we don't know when this pandemic close or we don’t know its long-time effects. In past, society face many pandemics and overcome those pandemics. Pandemics seem to have occurred at 10-50 years FRO following the emergence of new viral re-assortment subtypes (Potter, 2001). The limited studies that do exist indicate that usually the big historical pandemics of the last millennium were related to subsequent low asset returns (Jorda, 2020). The covid-19 pandemic has forced many businesses to close because of low supply of raw materials and proper supply chain. Many business and manufacturing industries cannot run their activities because of lower supply and products. When a pandemic situation occurs, it creates a great impact on business and its growth. In covid-19 pandemic many businesses are now close and they cannot continue their business. Retailers and brands
  • 9. 2 face many short-term challenges such as health and safety, supply chain, workforce, cash flow, consumer demand and so on. Many markets especially hotel and tourism sectors are no longer exist. In travel Industries 80% of hotel room are now empty (Bangladesh perspective). In airlines cut their 90% workforce (all over the world). Some businesses are now trying to continue their business. They struggling and some businesses are thriving. This is true for a number of internet-based business such as those related to online entertainment, online food deliver, online shopping and other online based businesses. The ongoing pandemic of the covid-19 has caused damage to global commerce and education. The covid-19 pandemic viewpoint in Bangladesh creates a great impact on the field of industry. Particularly RMG sectors, sectors of travel, tourism. In the covid-19 case RMG industries in Bangladesh have cancelled almost 3 million order and lost many product orders. Around 2 million workers will be affected by this. In all over the world this pandemic spread and it create a great impact on business. In all over the world export import transection has been closed. For this reason, many businesses and financial lose occur. But due to covid-19 business are getting more fastest and safest then before. Throughout the world one things remains in peoples mind that is virus infection and that is why they obey laws, rules and regulation and another required sign. Covid-19 impacts not only industries but also everything’s in the world. This covid-19 play a great impact on businesses and its growth. Businesses owner lost customers and production and delivery system is changed. The piece of the product increase and its fall in great impact on customers’ mind. Safety and security should be maintaining and to continue the business activities government subsidy and financial support needed. CHAPTER: 2
  • 10. 3 2: Literature Review Because of COVID-19 business are getting safer than before. Some business has completed a COVID-19 safety plan to save and secure their business. Not just now but after covid-19 the business situation shall comply with these rules and regulations and with those safety plans. Covid-19 is a global pandemic and we know that a lot of pandemics happened in the previous decade like as Ebola, Cholera, Flu and many other illnesses. In the history of Ebola virus, it impacts on business like as today’s situation. People maintain safety and always want safe and secure products and they try to keep secure. In that situation business environment, condition was changed and people follow health related tips. Many businesses will banish because of Ebola virus. The EVD has in the entire world seriously affected the economy and the business market. There was a huge opportunity to spread this human virus to humans and that is why people were worried about their health. When Ebola virus spread across the world, most of the country gave trade and transport restriction for prevents the virus transmission. That could mean the limit of goods moving within a country. The Flu of 1918 was the world’s last truly global pandemic. Roughly 500 million people were infected at that time and 50-100 million people were died. Both business and industrial sectors were closed. Sporting events and public private meeting were strictly discouraged. In business sectors a big shift is coming. Employee safety and security was maintained that time and companies are always trying to maintain the protection. The same situation now exists in covid-19 as with another pandemic. The government announced in late April his intention to progressively allow businesses to reopen through a phased work safe enable. But every business sector maintains and follows the rules and regulations. Every employee should maintain social distance and follow instruction. All from social distance, procedures, tracking and checking and the availability of personal protective measures equipment (PPE) must be addressed in order to conduct the work properly. Peter Cappelli, a professor of management and director of the Wharton Schools Human Resources Center at the University of Pennsylvania (9 April 2020), said that people are not cautious in rural areas and that
  • 11. 4 everyone in the business sector is not warning about covid-19.If everyone properly maintains all rules and regulations, then it has a great chance to recover COVID-19 and businesses are getting more safe and secure. Not only now but also in all pandemic business structure and business safeties were increased. Before COVID-19 workers work randomly and freely but now at this situation business are run by online. Companies conduct their business meeting via online. Because of health safety everyone in business follow this rules that provide by the country’s government. In this situation works also realize that it is not the proper time to work in office because it has a great chance to spread of COVID-19. Some businesses are open but the follow the proper guidelines and proper safety plan. Authorities are careful about safety related issues and maintain guideline. Every pandemic had a great impact on business and its growth. Business condition its operating systems and its growth has been change by pandemic. Due to COVID-19 economic condition and business condition also changed. Many business organizations already received funds from government and other financial institution and many businesses already stop to conduct its business. Because of COVID-19 in Bangladesh perspective many business organizations are closed and now they trying to operate their business via online. At that time the online business growth is increasing day to day. Peoples are now interested to purchase product from online and they believe that it is safer to direct purchase at this situation. The world working conditions are affected by this pandemic. The pandemic is severely affecting labor markets, economies and industries, including global supply chains, leading to widespread business disruptions of industry. In this pandemic many well-known brands and many industries are closed down because consumers remain at home and economies are being shut down (Tucker, 2020). Before covid-19 investors and businessman are trying to invest many businesses sectors but when a global pandemic occurs, they are not investing. At this situation business continuity are slow down and it is not possible to continue many businesses. Government authorities give restriction in many business sites. Employees customers are stay in home and they cannot go outside the home. So many companies are stop their operating system because no supply they find. Without supply how can they produce products. Another reason is that business owners cannot find large customers and their sales decreases. Without sales they cannot continue their business. Without production, sales, supply business growth are shut
  • 12. 5 down and its greatly impact on all over the world. Export import are closed and many organizations businesses are facing financial crisis. 2.1: Online Platform: Because of covid-19 most of the company or business industries are now conducting their business activities via online. Online shopping, online transaction, online meeting is increasing day by day because of covid-19. In this situation e- commerce growth is changing the overall business structure. Most of the businesses are struggling to continue their business. Now in this situation business authorities believe that online activities are more suitable and appropriate. Most of the biggest companies are now conducting their activities their operation via online to retain their business. It’s very hard for newly arrived companies but without online business it is too tough to retain business properly. 2.2: Safety and Security: Due to covid-19 business are now more safe and secure. In workplace people maintain rules and proper guideline. In business sectors companies realized that online delivery system and online services are safer in covid-19 situation. In many shopping malls, retail shops without mask customers cannot allow to enter or purchase. Everyone should maintain distance and follow instruction. Safety and security impact on workplace. When work environment are safe and secure employees are freely work this place and its impact on production. When production increase company’s sales increase economic condition changes. 2.3: Production System: In this situation production and delivery site are change. In this uncertain pandemic people are concern about health. In business companies now produce products which are necessary in this situation and they try to serve this via online home deliver. Because home delivery is safer and it reduce the spread of covid-19. At that time companies need to do a various and more robust plans for an extraordinary disruption of the supply chain in covid-19 (Ivanov and Ivanov and Dolgui, 2020a and 2020b). in this situation no single country can be expected to
  • 13. 6 produce efficiently all the goods needed to combat the covid-19 pandemic. Companies are trying to manufacture product in covid-19 scenario but supply chain and due to lower labor and financial resources production costs are high (Farrell and Newman, Europe 2020) 2.4: Prices Fluctuation: Because of covid-19 price of domestic and foreign products are increasing. If products price is increasing people buy less product and give less concertation about products purchase. There is a relation about sales and profits. If sales increase profits increase. So, in this situation company cannot sell more product and their business activities are slow down. A challenge to this approach, and price measurement in general during the Covid-19 crisis, is that certain goods and services are temporarily not available or transferable. This proper focuses on expected price changes for continuing firms which in our view ease this concern. Furthermore, using transection data to account for shifts in existing trends of spending. cavallo (2020) reveals that official inflation estimates are skewed upward by just 0.09 percentage points compared to real inflation in Germany 2.5: Sales: Due to covid-19 offline sales are decrease and online sales are increasing day by day. People are now interested to purchase product via online because of covid-19. To reduce the spread of covid-19 customer are using e- payment in every sector. But offline sales and its growth decrease. And now price of every products is high and business condition is not well. Business cannot continue their activities because of low purchases and limited buyers. For example, before covid-19 customers go to shop and purchase products. Side by side if the saw any products they buy this product instantly. But now customers have no Interest to go outside the home and purchase product. So, sales are decrease and profits also decrease. 2.6: Business Continuity: Because of covid-19 most of the businesses are now narrowly continue and most of the businesses are close. Because they have no ability to continue this business at this situation.
  • 14. 7 Low sales, high products price is responsible for this. To continue those, stop business again government subsidy and helps are needed. Without any financial help many businesses are banish and economic situation decrease day by day. Most of the business’s owner canceled their order, deal, meeting because of covid-19. The effect of a crisis or catastrophe on an organization should be of great concern to entrepreneurs as it affects current and future success of business. Statistics have shown that about 75% of companies without a continuity plan would fail after a disaster or crisis occurs within three years. (Quarantelli, 2007)) suggest the importance of disaster and crisis management and planning processes. Business continuity strategy is usually paired with a crisis recovery plan that includes restoration and resumption of operations (Cook,2015). (Binder, 2020) shows that 30% - 40% of Americans are very concerned about the corona crisis, postponed travel and delayed purchases of larger ticket items as early as March 2020 but became more optimistic about the unemployment situation and revised their inflation expectations downwards when they learned of the reduction in the target federal funds rate on 3rd March. Fetzer et al. (2020) demonstrate that the introduction of the corona virus in a nation leads to a major rise in internet searches worldwide. 2.7: Delivery System: To reduce the spread of covid-19 many businesses authorities are creating home delivery services. Because at this situation consumers are stay in home and they cannot go outside the house and that why companies take this step. To follow this step business, increase their sales and profit. Online delivery is essayist process and companies easily capture value from customer and increase their goodwill. Online delivery changes products sales and supply. For example: At this situation most of the customers or consumers are stay home and they have no intention to go to market and purchase products. But when they hear that it has a possibility that companies delivery man reach you product without maintaining safety customers easily purchase their favorite products. 2.8: Objectives:
  • 15. 8 The main purpose of this report is to investigate the effect of covid-19 pandemic on business and its growth. In this research paper researcher try to analysis the effect of the current situation on business sectors during covid-19. Another objective of this research is to evaluate how businesses are reaching their customers in this situation. To identify how dose covid-19 pandemic effect business and how this covid-19 effect on business growth. How companies or businesses overcome or cope with in this situation 2.9: Hypothesis: H0: There is no relationship between effect of covid-19 on business and its growth. H1: There is a relationship between effect of covid-19 on business and its growth. 2.10: Conceptual Framework: Figure 1: Research model on business and its growth during covid-19 Online Platform Safety and Security Delivery System Production System Prices Fluctuation Sales Business Continuity Business and its growth
  • 16. 9 CHAPTER: 3 3: ResearchMethodology: Analysis methodology relates directly to the practical “HOW” the researcher wants about to decide: - Which data to collect and want information to disregard? Who is to collect it from (this is called sampling design in research? Who is collect it (this is called method of gathering data)? How to interpret it (so that is called method of data analysis)? The methodology included research design, study population, sample size, measurement and scaling, data collection, questionnaire, and data analysis. 3.1: ResearchDesign: In this study, at first quantitative research has been conducted to gain a primary understanding the effect of covid-19 on business and its growth. The types of information that is required for this research is mainly primary and much of the data collect from primary sources. A conclusive research design was used in this research paper because conclusive research design is more successful and systematic then other research design. 3.2: Sources of Data: The data has been focused on both the main and secondary data sources. Secondary data sources work first, and much of the data obtained from primary sources through structure questionnaires and personal interview. In this research collecting secondary data from different national and international magazines, journals and articles.
  • 17. 10 3.3: Data Collection Method: Researcher was collecting data from friends, family and neighbor in this study. Participants both are male and female and they were deemed to be interested in this study. Most of the data obtain from online survey because in this covid-19 pandemic, it is not possible to go outside the home and collect data by person to person. Online survey is the easiest process and less time consuming. method of quantitative analysis offers a reasonable inexpensive, quick and effective way of collecting large information. The secondary data collect from google scholar, research gate and so on. 3.4: Sample Size and Technique: Most of the data collected from online google survey and about 105 respondents gave their personal opinion in this study. Respondents were both male and female. Researcher use one sampling technique in this research paper and this sampling technique is convenience sampling technique. It is one of the non-probability sampling procedure. But why researcher used this method? Because non- probability sampling technique is one of the easiest and less time-consuming technique. And it also less expensive. Among the several ways of non- probability sampling convenience sampling technique has been used because it is easy and readily available and the cost of this technique is low. 105 respondent’s response in this research project. 3.5: Measurement and Scaling: This survey was done by using non-comparative scaling method. The respondents measure only one item at a time in a non-comparative scaling method and thus non- comparative scales are also referred to as nomadic scales. A five-point Likert scale statement was used to
  • 18. 11 measure the variables where 1 stands for strongly disagree, 2 stands disagree, 3 stands neutral, 4 stands agree and 5 stands for strongly agree. 3.6: Questionnaire Design: In this research paper there have two section, 1: demographic section 2: opinion section 3.6.1: Demographic Section: Name, age, gender, occupation is the part of demographic section. In demographic section respondents using nominal scale. 3.6.2: Opinion Section: It is the main part of questionnaire. Respondent gave their opinion based on different question. They gave their personal opinion about business and its growth in covid-19 situation
  • 19. 12 CHAPTER: 4 4: Data Analysis and Findings: Gender, age, occupation is the part of demographic variables and a descriptive analysis is used for this part. The opinion of the respondents regarding effect of covid-19 pandemic on business and to its growth was analyzed by using statistical package for social science (SPSS) version 20.0. The sociable and vatic analysis were applied to present the result in a manner that meets the purpose of the study. Multiple regression analysis has been employed to examine the associative relationships between the dependent variable and seven independent variables. One regression equation has been given there to estimate the effect of covid-19 pandemic on business and to its growth. The multiple regression equation is given below: - ŷ = a + β1 X1 + β2 X2 + β3 X3 + β4 X4 + β5 X5+ β6 X6+ β7 X7 Where, ŷ represent business growth, α represent intercept Value (Slope), β’s represents regression coefficient, X1 represent online platform, X2 represent safe and security, X3 represent price fluctuation, X4 represent production system, X5 represent delivery system, X6 represent sales and X7 represent business continuity. The study basically intended to find out the present situation of business and to its growth. We know that we are in critical moment and we don’t know the long-time effect of this pandemic. This research also gives an insight on how online platform, safety and security, price fluctuate, production system, delivery system, sales and business continuity effect the business growth and its activities. The analysis and finding of the respondents (demographic part) are show in table 01 through the frequency distribution method:
  • 20. 13 Characteristic Frequency Percent Gender Male Female Total 95 10 105 90.5 % 9.5 % 100 % Age 15-20 21-25 26-30 31-35 36-avobe Total 5 93 6 1 0 105 4.8% 88.6% 5.7% 1% 0% 100% Occupation Businessman Employee Student Other 4 8 92 1 3.8% 7.6% 87.6% 1%

Total 105 respondent’s majority of the respondents were male. Total 95 respondents were male and it is around 90.5% percent of total respondent. Female were 10 and it was 9.5 percent of total respondent. The second part of demographic variables was age. In this section there have total 5 division. (15-20) years had 5 respondents and it was 4.8 percent of overall respondent. Most of the respondents age stay in (21-25) years. Total 93 respondents age were 21-25 and it was 88.6 percent of overall respondent. In (26-30) years division 6 respondents and it was 5.7 percent of total respondent. In (31-35) there have only one respondent and it was 1% percent. No respondents stay in (36- above). In occupation part, 92 respondents were students and it was 87.6 percent of total respondents. Eight (8) people were employees and it was 7.6 percent. Businessmen were 4 and it was 3.8 percent of overall respondent. Only one respondent was other and it was just 1% percent of total respondent. To find out the purpose of the study, the respondent’s response regarding the effect of covid- 19 pandemic on business and to its growth was analyzed by using predictive analysis. • 22. 15 Table:02 Model summary 4.1: Predict Relationship between Factors and Business Growth: In predictive analysis regression model was used to examine the relationship between the dependent and seven (7) independent variables. Table 0.2 indicate that the value of correlation coefficient, R= .528(from table 02) suggests that there is positive correlation between dependent variable and independent variables. Here dependent variable is business and to its growth and independent variables are business continuity, price fluctuation, safety and security, sales, online platform, production system, and delivery system. However only 27.9% (R square value 0.279) variation in business and to its growth is accounted due to business continuity, price fluctuation, safety and security, sales, online platform, production system, and delivery system. The adjusted r square is .227 (from table 02) expose that the seven (7) factors can significantly account for 22.7% variance in business and to its growth. Hence the test is significant, ANOVAa Model Sum of Squares df Mean Square F Sig. 1 Regression 6.868 7 .981 5.358 .000b Residual 17.761 97 .183 Total 24.629 104 a. So, the seven (7) factors strongly influence the business and to its growth during covid-19. Again, the f value calculation exposes that f- calculated value is 5.358 (from table 03) and ta f-critical value is 2.11 (from 7 0f 97 degree of freedom). In this calculation we see that the calculated f value is more than f-critical value, which leads the acceptance of alternative hypothesis of the study. (β2= .341; t- value =3.720; P < 0.05) it indicates that safety and security is influence business and to its growth during covid-19. The next factor is delivery system which also influenced business and to its growth during covid-19. (β5 =.203; t- value = 2.113; P < 0.05). Next sales are the key factor which considerably influence business and to its growth. (β6 =.212; t- value = 2.247; P < 0.05). As a result, sales influence business and to its growth in covid-19. The next one is production system which is negatively influence business and to its growth. (β4 = -.198; t- value = -2.137; P < 0.05). The rest of the factors negatively and insignificantly influence business and to its growth during covid-19. Online platform negatively and insignificantly influence business and to its growth. (β1 = -.068; t- value = -.738; P > 0.05). It indicates that it has no effect on business and to its growth during covid-19. Next price fluctuation insignificantly influences the business and to its growth. (β3 = .178; t- value = 1.916; P > 0.05). The next one is production system which is negatively influence business and to its growth. (β4 = -.198; t- value = -2.137; P < 0.05). Consequently, business continuity has no effect on business and to its growth. (β7 = .009; t- value = .107; P > 0.05). Hence the regression equation for this study is, Business and its growth=1.888+(-0.086) (Online platform) + 0.328 (Safety and security) + 0.159 (Price fluctuation) + (-0.183) (Production system) + 0.214 (Delivery system) +0.201 (Sales) + 0.004 (Business continuity.
  • 25. 18 CHAPTER: 5 5.1: Limitation: This research data collects from online survey and from many articles and google. But this all data is not appropriate every time. There have some mistake or gap. Sample size and sample area are small. Most of the respondents are student and they fill up the survey paper. It is not sure that, are they read the questionnaire on not? In this research, research work just only online survey and skip many factors such as economic factor, financial factor and so on. So, in further any one tries to doing research in this topic they should use this factor and if they use those factors, they find better result. Side by side they should use not only just questionnaire but also face to face communication, field work and so on. Large amount of respondent helps to find out better result. 5.2: Recommendations: In this research, one result come in hand. This result is null hypothesis rejected. Most of the factor’s influence the dependent variables. This research result may be helpful both companies, manufacturers and also customers. Companies pay attention about those factors which influence business growth. If manufacturer industries pay attention about this result it very helpful from them. They easily know about production supply; product delivery and which things is helpful for them. Customer also helpful if they follow and analysis this result.
