I am Arif. I have worked for General Electric company for 3 years as a Lead consultant ,
solution architect and database administrator for SQL Server. Previously I have worked for
Microsoft for 5 years.
I am also a online trainer for SQL Server and provide efficient trainings and help trainees in
building efficient resumes and provides continuous support to them.
I live in Hyderabad, India. When I joined Microsoft Since then I have been supporting
everything which comes under the umbrella of Microsoft technologies which includes SQL
Server Database Engine, Windows servers, installation, uninstallation, setting up of new
servers and new environments .
Performance tuning, backup, restore, replication, log shipping, mirroring and my favorite
AlwaysOn technologies and In-Memory OLTP , setting up of clusters , Upgrading servers ,
clusters , creating jobs for automating tasks , upgrading service packs etc.
I have worked on toughest SQL Server related issues. I have worked with many customers to
assist them in various issues.
I also work as a freelancer for clients on SQL Server projects. Providing expert solutions to
customer problems with best practices followed in the industry.

2. As a Database Consultant performed various activities not limited to
Operating System(s) : Windows 2003 , 2008 ,2008 R2 and 2012 Servers
Database: MS SQL Server 2000 ,2005, 2008 R2 , 2012 , 2014, 2016
Managing servers of Microsoft , General Electric Corporate ,GE Power ,GE Oil
& Gas, Transportation , GE Health care servers (more than 400 servers ) ,
databases ranging from 1 GB to 5 TB size.
I was responsible for end-to-end delivery and Production support (24x7) globally for 50+
mission critical revenue related Applications. These are very high business impacting,
Incident Management Tools that include Enterprise Work Surface , MS-Solve [Built on MS
Dynamic CRM], Clarify (Amdocs), kronos, smartsignal, bwise and other critical
applications. Entire operation process has been adopted from Operational Framework and
ITIL for critical support and operational excellence. Goal is to make sure that the supported
systems have 99.999% availability

 Maintaining and managing servers owned by the team. These servers are
Windows 2003/2008/2012, SQL Server 2000 ,2005, 2008 R2 , 2012 , 2014, 2016

trouble shoot the SQL Server Jobs issues, application’s related sql jobs issues.
 Identifying the issues in code and reporting to dev team. Monitoring azure based
applications , Instances , SQL servers in azure.
 Doing diagnostic check in azure like health of worker roles , CPU usage ,
Memory usage , IO , certicates etc.

4.  Constantly checking functionality of the environment and taking necessary action
when an alert is thrown from alerting mechanism by taking a prompt action based on
its severity and considering the resolution of the issues as most primitive tasks.
 Proficiency and Expertise in SQL Server Backup/Recovery, Disaster recovery and
planning.
 Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, Client/Server Connectivity,
Database consistency checks using DBCC Utilities.
 Experience in automating process by creating jobs, and error reporting using Alerts,
SQL Mail Agent.
 Planning Backup strategies and regularly monitoring and confirm that backups have
been made and successfully saved to a secure location and restoring backups to a test
server in order to verify that we can restore them.
 Monitoring and resolving disk space issues to ensure that SQL Servers won’t run out
of disk space.
