An article from the writer's point of view

1. The world is currently in alarming danger from the amount of energy that we consume every
day. Millions of barrels of oil and gas are consumed daily around the world. So the world is
tending to use renewable energy, and in the current century there are many alternative methods
of producing energy. Despite there are many alternative energy sources that are inexhaustible, I
will just discuss the solar energy and wind power in this essay, which are the most common and
known methods of alternative energy. And I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of
these two types.
Firstly the wind power, which considered one of the most affordable forms of electricity today,
because it has many benefits that make it a good method to create energy. For example, wind
power is the cheapest type of renewable energy, and we can use it in any windy place around the
earth. In addition to, wind energy does not harm the air or lands it uses. But in contrast, wind
energy has many disadvantage. For example, it relies on the wind, which means if it is not windy
no energy are produced. Also some people consider wind power ugly and noisy, and maybe the
wind turbines can be a threat to wildlife. In addition to, wind power needs large areas.
And the second method is solar energy, which has many benefits that make it a good choice
to use. For example, it does not pollute the environment, and can be adapted to work on a variety
of building and in a variety of environments. Another benefit is that it an inexhaustible resource
unless the sun is present. But on the other hand, solar energy has many drawbacks. For example,
the costs of using solar energy are very expansive and the costs of maintenance are also
expansive , and the solar panels can be easily damaged. Also it needs wide areas to produce
large amounts of energy, and needs the sunlight, so in the night or in the cloudy days the solar
panels cannot create the electricity.
To conclude, both solar energy and wind power are good choices to generate energy despite
the drawbacks that they have, and I am sure both can be suitable for our country Palestine, solar
energy can generates a lot of energy in the summer. Similarly, wind power can generates a good
amount of energy in the winter. But because we have a shortage and blackouts of electricity in the

2. winter, I think using wind power is the most suitable alternative energy for Palestine, we have
windy areas, so we can create enough energy to use in the winter, also wind power costs us less
than the other alternative energy systems. So, we should do all our effort to save our energy, and
to build our country and to make it the best.
