Fostering Friendships - Enhancing Social Bonds in the Classroom
Video infulences & Ideas
1.
2. I like these shots used in the music video ‘Wide Awake’ by
Katy Perry because the point of view and framing would look
good for the opening sequence of mu music video. It would
suit the first section because this will be when I have my
artist singing. However, my artist will have lighter hair, so she
will stand out more in the shot because it will be brighter and
bolder to look at. I like these framing shots and sequence
because it shows the power and emotions she is delivering
while singing this song and I think these shots would look
good with my song. This because the lyrics of my song are
also quite powerful and emotive.
3. I took these shots from Rhianna's music video ‘We
Found Love’. I like these shots because the top left
image shows a medium close up of the couple on one
of the arcade games. This shot would be good to
include in my music video because, one of the
locations I plan on going to is Bridlington and I would
like a couple shots of the friends playing on games. In
the Rhianna’s music video the length of this section is
6 seconds and includes 7 edits. Because my song is
slower I could do multiple edits but over a longer time
frame.
4. These screen shots are from the music video by
Adele ‘Someone like you’. I screen shotted these
particular frames because I would like to have some
areas of my music video in black and white. I quite
like the mood created by the tones and highlights,
which would look good if I was to use this effect in
my music video. I also like the framing of these
shots because in the long shot you can see the
establishing area. The effect that has been used,
has made the right bottom and left top dark and as
it gets closer to the middle, it gets lighter. This helps
create the dark excluded feeling she might feel. For
my music video I might use black and white for the
narrative. Either for the whole thing or just the shots
when she is being abused by her partner.
5. Also in the music video ‘Stronger’ by Kelly Clarkson, a
wind machine or fan has been used to create the
natural movement of her hair in this close up. I think
that it helps create an natural aspect to a music video
and makes the shot look more interesting than
without. Also I think that it will make the shot look
more professional than if it was just left to a medium
close up.
In the music video ‘Dance Again’ by Jennifer Lopez
includes a long shot of her walking towards the
camera. A wind machine or fan has been used in the
shot which gives her a wind swept affect and
movement. I think that I should consider using a fan or
something to create movement in her hair because
the affect is used in many music videos and I think will
look better than just standing without movement.
6. In the music video by The Vamps ‘Somebody to you’
there is multiple shots on the beach of the main
female in the music video. These shots are then
repeated later on in the music video. I like this
sequence because of the range of framings
composed together to create around 6 seconds of the
music video. I like the close up shots because it
shows the enjoyment and fun she is having. This
would suit my music video because it would contrast
the feelings she is having with her friend and abusive
partner.
7. With these shots, which where taken from Emeli
Sande ‘Clown’, they inspired me to use the lighting
affect that is used in this shot for mu music video. I
like how the lighting and background correspond
well together to make her look flawless and
dramatic. These shots are held for a few seconds
which works well with the song because the song
is slow and the editing would have fit with this
pace. Looking at these shots and what I could do,
when I am filming my artist singing I could use
different directed lighting from different angles to
create a similar affect. Also the framings used, I
could also use and have my artist off centered
also.
8. I took these shots from the music video
‘Please Don’t Say You Love Me’ by Gabrielle
Aplin. I like these shots because I like the
framing and point of view of the shots. Looking
at these shots, I cans see myself filming and
using shots like this in my final music video.
However, because of the nature of the song, I
may have my actors being more friendly
towards each other and having more of a
positive vibe to each other.
