We are pleased that you have chosen
to join Darlene and I this evening for the
Completely KIDS Big Red Tailgate. We
could not be more honored to serve as the
2015 Honorary Chairmen.
For nearly 20 years, we have supported
Completely KIDS in its commitment
to improving the lives of children and
families in the Omaha community. Through
the agency’s work in area schools and
homeless shelters, Completely KIDS
provides access to and meets the basic
needs of the children and families in its
programs. The agency empowers them
to overcome barriers to their success by
providing a safe environment, academic
assistance, nutrition education and healthy
food, and by connecting parent with child
and families to the community.
With your support of Big Red Tailgate,
Completely KIDS will be able to serve more
kids and families and maintain its high-
quality, rounded approach to programming.
We believe in the work of Completely KIDS
and are happy to help in raising money
with you this evening. Thank you to each
individual and corporation who contributed
to the success of the 2015 Big Red
Tailgate!
Sincerely,
Darlene and Randy Mueller
2015 Honorary Chairs
• Safe: Completely KIDS provides a safe
environment with caring adult mentors.
• Healthy: Through healthy meals and the
Weekend Food Program, youth receive
nourishment, which helps reduce hunger
and concentration issues due to hunger.
• Successful: We provide homework help
and enrichment activities that reinforce
what is being taught in the classroom.
• Connected: Completely KIDS
strengthens families by engaging parents
with their children and connecting families
to the resources they so desperately need.

iOur Mission
T
he mission of Completely KIDS is to educate and empower kids
and families to create a safe, healthy, successful and connected
community. In supporting this mission, we assist more than 2,000
children and families each year in overcoming barriers, as a result of
poverty, to their success.
Research shows that growing up in poverty can have a significant impact
on a child’s cognitive development, emotional well-being and physical
health, thus impacting his or her ability to be successful. Completely KIDS
has consistently seen the impacts of poverty in the lives of the families
it works with and has developed program components that support our
mission and specifically address each area of need.

Dear Friends,
Thank you for choosing to spend your evening with us. We have an
enjoyable event planned that will get your sports spirit hyped up for
tomorrow’s game and will leave you feeling great about the impact you
have made on the children and families of Completely KIDS.
Big Red Tailgate allows us to share our mission, encourage continued
support of our agency, thank those of you who make our work possi-
ble, and celebrate your investment in Completely KIDS and the Omaha
community.
As an agency, we are grateful to 2015 Event Chair Kristin Lewis and her
committee for the countless hours they have spent in preparing for this
event. This evening’s program combines old favorites with a fresh spin.
As Guild members and volunteers, this committee advocates for and
supports our agency by giving of their time and money year after year.
And to 2015 Honorary Chairmen Darlene and Randy Mueller, thank you
for your years of support at our events, to our yearly fund drive and to
our individual programs. With your contributions, you invest in our orga-
nization and in the families we serve, and strengthen the vitality of the
Omaha community.
Please continue to enjoy your evening!

70%
Funds received through RAISE THE PADDLE will go toward continuing
the efforts of Completely KIDS including:
Feed a Child: Completely KIDS provides daily meals and weekend
backpacks for children who have little or no food at home.
Tutoring Program: In the homeless shelter program, children receive
individual homework help to ensure they don’t fall behind due to high
mobility.
Summer Gardening Programs: Children learn about the environment
by growing vegetables and taking the produce home to share with
their families. They also take pride in their gardens, which beautify their
neighborhoods.
The Cindy Leiferman Nature Explore Classroom: This outdoor play
area allows children to interact with nature, be active and enhance their
fine motor, creativity, decision-making, conflict resolution and team
building skills in a safe green space.
Reading Programs: A majority of the children who attend Completely
KIDS are from families with low educational attainment. Reading
programs provide youth with opportunities to read aloud and teach
parents how to help their children.
Academic Projects: Projects engage older youth and provide a hands-
on learning experience while reinforcing key academic concepts and
positive life skills development. Each project includes components on
science, technology, math, literature and art, role-playing, service and
personal development, and may include a field trip.
Field Trips: Because many of the children have few opportunities for
new and different experiences, field trips provide the chance for youth
to visit educational sites and have new experiences throughout our city.
Family Nights: To make a difference in a child’s life, the family must
be involved. Family Nights are regularly held at each Completely KIDS
program and include a meal and educational activity in which parents
and children can participate together.

Completely KIDS is a nonprofit youth-
serving organization that was founded
in 1920 as a local chapter of a national
club program that served girls and
young women. Boys were later admitted
beginning in 1976.
Our agency began to reach out to the
needs of underserved communities in
the 1980s. This included self-reliance
and enrichment activities for after-school
programs in North and South Omaha.
Services to children in homeless
shelters began in 1991. In 1995,
we dissolved the club program to
eliminate a duplication of services.
The organization was utilizing
traditional programming skills and
operating after-school programs
for the underserved.
In 2011, we became an independent,
unaffiliated organization and changed
our name to Completely KIDS.
This allows us to focus strictly on our
community and have a name that reflects
our local mission.
We reach youth in preschool through
middle school, and their families, via
school and shelter partnerships in the
Omaha metro area.

  • 2. 2 3 We are pleased that you have chosen to join Darlene and I this evening for the Completely KIDS Big Red Tailgate. We could not be more honored to serve as the 2015 Honorary Chairmen. For nearly 20 years, we have supported Completely KIDS in its commitment to improving the lives of children and families in the Omaha community. Through the agency’s work in area schools and homeless shelters, Completely KIDS provides access to and meets the basic needs of the children and families in its programs. The agency empowers them to overcome barriers to their success by providing a safe environment, academic assistance, nutrition education and healthy food, and by connecting parent with child and families to the community. With your support of Big Red Tailgate, Completely KIDS will be able to serve more kids and families and maintain its high- quality, rounded approach to programming. We believe in the work of Completely KIDS and are happy to help in raising money with you this evening. Thank you to each individual and corporation who contributed to the success of the 2015 Big Red Tailgate! Sincerely, Darlene and Randy Mueller 2015 Honorary Chairs • Safe: Completely KIDS provides a safe environment with caring adult mentors. • Healthy: Through healthy meals and the Weekend Food Program, youth receive nourishment, which helps reduce hunger and concentration issues due to hunger. • Successful: We provide homework help and enrichment activities that reinforce what is being taught in the classroom. • Connected: Completely KIDS strengthens families by engaging parents with their children and connecting families to the resources they so desperately need. completelykids.org iOur Mission T he mission of Completely KIDS is to educate and empower kids and families to create a safe, healthy, successful and connected community. In supporting this mission, we assist more than 2,000 children and families each year in overcoming barriers, as a result of poverty, to their success. Research shows that growing up in poverty can have a significant impact on a child’s cognitive development, emotional well-being and physical health, thus impacting his or her ability to be successful. Completely KIDS has consistently seen the impacts of poverty in the lives of the families it works with and has developed program components that support our mission and specifically address each area of need.
  • 3. 4 5 Dear Friends, Thank you for choosing to spend your evening with us. We have an enjoyable event planned that will get your sports spirit hyped up for tomorrow’s game and will leave you feeling great about the impact you have made on the children and families of Completely KIDS. Big Red Tailgate allows us to share our mission, encourage continued support of our agency, thank those of you who make our work possi- ble, and celebrate your investment in Completely KIDS and the Omaha community. As an agency, we are grateful to 2015 Event Chair Kristin Lewis and her committee for the countless hours they have spent in preparing for this event. This evening’s program combines old favorites with a fresh spin. As Guild members and volunteers, this committee advocates for and supports our agency by giving of their time and money year after year. And to 2015 Honorary Chairmen Darlene and Randy Mueller, thank you for your years of support at our events, to our yearly fund drive and to our individual programs. With your contributions, you invest in our orga- nization and in the families we serve, and strengthen the vitality of the Omaha community. Please continue to enjoy your evening! • 10. 18 19 70% Funds received through RAISE THE PADDLE will go toward continuing the efforts of Completely KIDS including: Feed a Child: Completely KIDS provides daily meals and weekend backpacks for children who have little or no food at home. Tutoring Program: In the homeless shelter program, children receive individual homework help to ensure they don’t fall behind due to high mobility. Summer Gardening Programs: Children learn about the environment by growing vegetables and taking the produce home to share with their families. They also take pride in their gardens, which beautify their neighborhoods. The Cindy Leiferman Nature Explore Classroom: This outdoor play area allows children to interact with nature, be active and enhance their fine motor, creativity, decision-making, conflict resolution and team building skills in a safe green space. Reading Programs: A majority of the children who attend Completely KIDS are from families with low educational attainment. Reading programs provide youth with opportunities to read aloud and teach parents how to help their children. Academic Projects: Projects engage older youth and provide a hands- on learning experience while reinforcing key academic concepts and positive life skills development. Each project includes components on science, technology, math, literature and art, role-playing, service and personal development, and may include a field trip. Field Trips: Because many of the children have few opportunities for new and different experiences, field trips provide the chance for youth to visit educational sites and have new experiences throughout our city. Family Nights: To make a difference in a child’s life, the family must be involved. Family Nights are regularly held at each Completely KIDS program and include a meal and educational activity in which parents and children can participate together. 2014 at a glance facts and stats from completely kids programs Age 81% 5-12 17.5% 13-171.5% 0-4 Youth Served 1,825 (in after-school and homeless shelter programs) 3% Asian, Native American or Pacific Islander 17,500 food bags distributed 178,160 hot meals served AfterSchoolfoodfamilyLibertyProject Ensuring nutrition for every family We aim to enhance family dynamics, develop positive parenting skills, increase social capital for parents and improve the wellness of families. • 13. 24 25 Completely KIDS is a nonprofit youth- serving organization that was founded in 1920 as a local chapter of a national club program that served girls and young women. Boys were later admitted beginning in 1976. Our agency began to reach out to the needs of underserved communities in the 1980s. This included self-reliance and enrichment activities for after-school programs in North and South Omaha. Services to children in homeless shelters began in 1991. In 1995, we dissolved the club program to eliminate a duplication of services. The organization was utilizing traditional programming skills and operating after-school programs for the underserved. In 2011, we became an independent, unaffiliated organization and changed our name to Completely KIDS. This allows us to focus strictly on our community and have a name that reflects our local mission. We reach youth in preschool through middle school, and their families, via school and shelter partnerships in the Omaha metro area. a brief history of Completely KIDS
