• To Have: have, has, had, will have, shall have, and having
•
• To Do: do, did, does, done, doing, will do, and shall do
•
• Others(Modals): will, would, shall, should, can, could, may, might, must,
going to, have to, ought to etc.
3. USE OF AUXILIARY VERBS
TO BE: AM. IS, ARE, WAS, WERE, BE, BEEN, BEING
• Use-1: Any continuous tense without ‘to be’ is impossible. That means, the
first duty of ‘to be’ is to make any verb continuous
• Sakib is playing cricket at this moment.
• Ashraful was captaining at that moment.
• Mashrafi will be walking tomorrow.
• Bush has been reading for one hour.
4. USE-2: ANY PASSIVE SENTENCE WITHOUT ‘TO BE’ IS IMPOSSIBLE. THAT
MEANS , THE SECOND DUTY OF ‘TO BE’ IS TO MAKE PASSIVE SENSE.
• Rice is eaten by Sakib.
• Ashraful was made captain in 2006.
• Mashrafi will be called tomorrow.
• Bush has been helped recently.
5. USE-3: AT TIMES ‘TO BE’ IS USED AS MAIN VERBS.
• Sakib Al Hasan is a good captain.
• Ashraful was a captain in 2006.
• Masharfi will be a good captain tomorrow.
