Agile Baden/Finding Purpose in Chaos with Personal AgilityPeter Stevens
The Covid19 has caused much of the economy to shut down, caused many people to work from home (while taking care of their kids!), and caused many people to rethink what they do and how they do it. The world is coming to an end. Or is it a great opportunity? Or both?
We’ll look at how finding purpose can help you face the future without fear and how personal agility can help find purpose of move forward despite the challenges around you.
(2016 Version) Dating Skills For Engineers ( entrepreneurship skills) iain.verigin
I begin with "What Does A Project Look and Feel LIke?" I talk about the fact that projects are stressful and have an emotional curve that is "U" shaped. We start excited and then move slowly to despair before getting excited again. To get thru this we need to be bring "Persistence, Grit, and Cheer" to our work place. Mainly we need to bring "Cheer" to the workplace.
I hypothesize that "Cheer" is supported by 4 personal skills -- Communication, Listening, Helping, and Don't Be An Asshole".
Then I focus on four fundamental personal skills of entrepreneurship – Communicating (Heath Brothers), Listening (Marshal Goldsmith), Helping (Edgar Schein), and Don’t Be An Asshole (Robert Sutton). I also add in the Growth Mindset (Carol Dweck) as part of Don’t Be An Asshole.

How to ace the most asked interview Questions Bill Lins
Want to know how to respond to the most asked interview questions? Most job seekers react vs. responding to questions such as, "Tell me a little bit about yourself", What are your strengths & weakness?", "Why should I hire you?", What salary are you seeking?", "You are under/over qualified." After watching this you will be able to ACE these and more. Our presenter, Bill Lins, has consulted thousands of job seekers and major corporations and will share his insights on making you and investment to the employer on the interview vs. an expense.
The Top Ten Reactions to Performance Feedback and How to Respond4Good.org
hy do so many managers avoid giving feedback? Fear of how an employee will respond is the number one reason managers say they delay and sometimes completely abandon performance conversations. Many managers feel there is no way to adequately predict and prepare for an employee’s response to feedback and are, therefore, convinced things will spin out of control. In reality, most performance issues will elicit a fairly predictable range of responses from employees, some of them even positive. We have identified the Top 10 Employee Reactions and suggest effective ways of addressing each. Understanding these reactions and what to do if confronted by them can mean the difference between having the confidence to initiate an important conversation or sweeping it under the rug.
Join us for this session to walk through these reactions and gain practical tips and techniques to maintain control of the conversation and keep it moving in the best direction.
A presentation on the 5 principles to prevent conflict in your life and business, whether that means preventing ongoing conflicts by solving them, preventing conflict escalation or preventing future conflicts
Losing your job can take a toll on your emotional and physical wellbeing. There is a grieving process that most people go through after a layoff. It is completely normal to experience anger and denial and giddiness - and every other emotion. You will definitely have good days and bad days.
However, this also is a great opportunity to step back and evaluate what you have done in the past, and what you would like to do in the future. It is a time to take inventory of what worked and what didn’t work for you. It is a time to reconnect with your purpose and values. It is a time to consider what the right next step is.

Challenge The Process By Asking "Why?" With GoLeanSixSigma.comGoLeanSixSigma.com
Did you know that curiosity catalyzes creativity? This 1 hour webinar will share how you can promote curiosity in your workplace to inspire creative solutions to everyday problems.
Everybody lies sometimes. This is true. Research has shown that 60 per cent of people lie at least once in a 10-minute conversation with a stranger. But many lies are benign, constructed to preserve someone’s feelings, save face or avoid damaging a relationship. These lies are usually harmless, expected and appreciated.
Dishonesty in the workplace, however, can be dangerous. From the lies told in employment interviews to tales spun in the boardroom, workplace dishonesty can affect a company’s security, morale and bottom line. HR professionals and investigators should be skilled and trained to detect lies.
Join Timothy Dimoff, security expert and president of SACS Consulting, as he discusses workplace dishonesty and what to do about it.
Getting Comfortable With Discomfort: Practical Tools for Keeping Your Head Wh...Jack Pringle
slides from a presentation I gave on November 6, 2015 to the Richland County Bar Association with some thoughts and tools for staying healthy in the legal profession.
Career transition is uncomfortable, no doubt! However, it can be an incredibly valuable time if you are willing to step back, evaluate, and decide what you would like to change and what you would like to keep doing. Are you ready for a big change? Did you like what you were doing and would like to do more of it? Are you ready for a new work paradigm like a job portfolio? This talk contains practical and actionable tips for thriving (not just surviving) your transition.
"To know, is good. To live, is better. To be, that is perfect." - The Mother
During the Agile adoption, its a common complain that many team in many organizations get caught up in the ceremonies or mechanics of Agile and fail to understand/appreciate the true value and spirit of Agile. And because of this, the original intent of the Agile movement itself is lost. This is a serious issue!
This workshop will highlight, a well-proven approach to transformation (not adoption) and show the distinct steps in this journey that an individual or a collective goes through when learning anything new. Activities, serving as examples, in the workshop, will focus to show the journey - that is, how to begin with rituals, then gradually move to practices, arriving at principles and eventually internalizing the values. Witnessing this gradual process of transformation will help participants discover for themselves their current progression. We hope this will serve as a guiding light during their Agile journey.
Finally, we will leave the participants to ponder upon and discover for themselves their ideals in life and work as this is not only applicable to software development, but also to any discipline where humans are involved, including life itself.
