Let’s Clean Up the Sidewalks!
Every morning, five kids from our neighborhood walk to Central School. Most days, we
love our walk. But in the winter after it snows, walking to school turns into chore. It’s
especially bad when people shovel their driveways and toss the snow onto the sidewalks.
Slogging through the deep snow and scrambling up and down now hills is hard work! Even
wearing boots and snow pants we still get to school with wet socks. Walking in the street is
not a good solution because it is dangerous and against the law.
There is a simple solution to this problem. If every family in the neighborhood shoveled
the sidewalk in front of their house, we would have a nice, clean, and safe path to school. It
doesn’t take very much work to shovel a few feet of sidewalk, and if everyone does his or her
part, the whole walk will be clear in no time. We do understand that some people have a hard
time doing physical work such as shoveling. Maybe more-able neighbors could help these
people out. We kids would be happy to lend a hand sometimes, too. Friends and neighbors,
please join us in making our walk to school safer and more comfortable this winter. Let’s all
start shoveling!

The Best Park
There is one place our class should visit because there’s something for everyone. There
is more to do than we could ever fit in one day. The place is free, historic, and contains
unlimited options. Our class must visit New York’s Central Park.
New York’s famous park is accessible to everyone. There are no gates where admission
fees are collected. It is free and open to the public. This makes the trip to Central Park one of
the best values for our class. In Central Park, we can take rock-climbing lessons, fish , play
chess or checkers. In summer there’s swimming and in-line skating, and in winter there’s ice
skating too. You can also take a horse-drawn carriage ride, jog, play tennis, or play a game on
one of the many ball fields. The most important reason why we should visit Central Park is that
there is something for everyone. We’ll be busy aal day long.
I think teachers will agree that busy students are happy students. So how could anyone
argue against a pleasant day in Central Park? It’s free. educational, and fun for everyone. Let’s
go!

Cheetah vs. Jaguar
Who’s faster, a cheetah or a jaguar? These two animals are known for their speed. but
the cheetah is the fastest animal on land. However, the jaguar is good at swimming and
climbing trees.
These fast cats look similar. The cheetah has a yellow coat with black spots. The jaguar
has a yellow coat too, with black markings called rosettes. These beautiful coats are the reason
that the jaguar and the cheetah are threatened. Both are hunted for their skins. The cheetah is
a carnivorous animal, and the jaguar is a carnivore too. This means they’re meat eaters.
However, the two cats hunt different animals.
These animals live on different continents and in different habitats. The cheetah lives in Africa.
The jaguar, on the other hand, lives in South America and Central America. The cheetah lives
in dry regions, but the jaguar is found in tropical forests.
One of these great cats likes to travel. In recent year jaguars have been found in the
southern United States and Arizona. However, so far cheetahs prefer to stay closer to home.
These cats have different homes and habitats but are similar in their beauty. Unfortunately,
their appearance also threatens their existence.
