2. For the colour scheme of my magazine I
want to go for a very simplistic colour
scheme with a lot of black, white and grey
with maybe the odd pop of colour
potentially a lilac or powder blue colour. I
want my magazine to look sort of old
fashioned look and for it to look almost
vintage but with new gender
fluid fashion. I chose these black and
white images because I felt like they
looked very sophisticated and simple
however I feel like they are also quite bold
and impactful at the same time.

For my front cover I took inspiration from vogue as I
really like the simplistic and minimalistic look that
vogue goes for. I am going to be only adding a few cover
lines to my coverline as I do not want these to take over
from the main image as I want my main image to hold
most of the message my magazine will be portraying,
However I will have a ‘main’ coverline at the bottom
Centre of my front cover with the models name as I saw
vogue did this and I really liked how bold it looked
without cluttering the magazine front cover.
5. Double page spread 1
For my first double page spread I have decided to have a full page dedicated to a main image as
when I did my research I noticed that the majority of the double page spreads I have seen have one
page dedicated to a main image. On my double page spread I don’t want there to be a lot of
pictures as I want my double page spread to not look cluttered and to be simple but effective . My
article will be an interview all about my models personal experience with androgynous fashion.
Double page spread 2
In my second double page spread I still don’t want there to be loads of images so again i want to
dedicate one page to a main image. However on this double page spread I would like there to be a
massive bold title that covers both pages so that it entices the reader but still looks simple. This
article will just be an article written about the history behind androgynous fashion.
7. Contents page

as I really liked the simplistic and clean look. Eventhough it has a
simplistic and clean look it still does what a contents page should
do and give you information. Again I have decided would like a
main image as the centre of attention on my contentspage because
I think with the type of magazine I am creating it is important that I
showcase a lot of images and show the readers exactly what
androgynous fashion looks like.
8. REFLECTION
What are you making?
I am making a fashion magazine based on the gender fluid fashion movement. I will be making 2 double
page spreads, a front cover and a contents page. Both my double page spreads will be based on the gender
fluid fashion movement and I will be discussing the problems that the gender fluid fashion industry is
facing and how we should accept this.
Why?
The purpose of making this magazine is because it is something I feel very passionate about and feel like
because I am passionate about it I can make a good magazine. The main purpose of my magazine is the
fact that I want gender fluid fashion to be something that everyone accepts and not something that people
judge because I feel like fashion does not have a gender and in this magazine I will breaking the
stereotypes and all the stigma that comes with it.
Who is it for?
My magazine will be aimed at both genders of any age, probably 16+ as I feel like a younger audience may
not fully understand the importance of the magazine I am trying to portray. Also we are the next
generation and therefore if we can all accept it other generations in the future will just see it as being
‘normal’
9. Where will it appear/on what?
My magazine will be a pyschical copy as when I did my survey the majority of people said that they are
more likely to pick up a psychical copy of a magazine as it is more traditional. However I may consider
making a online version too as some people said that would be more convienet for them. I think by
using the results when planning will help as I can see what I need to order in order for it to reach the
most people.
10. FONTS
I got all these fonts from Dafont. When I
went on dafont I searched in retro to get
the majority of these fonts as I decided I
want a quite retro/vintage look as I feel
like it will fit in nicely with my colour
scheme of very neutral and monotone
colours. I took heavy inspiration from
rolling stone magazine when chosing my
fonts especially the
Font as I feel like this is the closest to the
rolling stone magazine font. The main
inspiration for my whole magazine has
been vogue so I thought I could maybe
encorporate the vogue font in somehow,
potentially in the masthead.
11. I think these types of fonts will be a really good
choice as I think they are exactly what I am
looking for. I want something that is quite retro
but at the same time I want it to be bold and
eye catching and I think both of these fonts do
that. I will probably take inspiration from the
rolling stone magazine cover as I want to take
inspiration from vogue but I do not just want to
copy it exactly I want my magazine to look quite
unique and different. I feel like the rolling stone
font is a little bit more vague and people may
associate it with it as quick as they would with
the vogue font.
12. budget
I am going to purchase everything I want my models to wear as I don’t have everything that I need. This
means that I need to be sensible and try and find the majority of the things in charity shops or upcycle
things. Even just adding things such as jewellery, a scarf, makeup would be a cheap way to make clothes
more feminine. Adding things such as a tie, cufflinks etc. this will help make clothes more masculine as
well.

15. Location : studio at college
I want to use the studio at college as when doing my research I
noticed that most of the images were taken in a studio rather than
a certain location. I will use the white background when taking my
pictures so that the image is the main focus instead of the
background, I will also have the lights very bright as I want my
images to look very clean and crisp. I might play around and use a
black screen aswell if I feel like it suits the picture better.

18. Potential issues Solution
Something might come up and my models
might not be able to come
To make sure this doesn’t happen I will have
backup models so that I always have somebody
I could potentially lose my work (corrupted or
deleted)
To avoid this I will make sure that I back up all
my work onto one drive so that i always have a
copy of it
When taking pictures my camera or battery
could die
I will make sure when I am out or not taking
pictures in the studio at college that I will have
a spare battery with me
Equipment might not be available Book in advance
Studio might not be available Book in advance
Don’t get the outfits I need Backup plans, borrow from other people
Contingency planning
19. Potential issue How will this be avoided?
Being in college you could catch covid To avoid this I will Stick to the covid19
guidelines and make sure you take regular tests
When filming in the studio something could fall To avoid this Be careful and make sure youre
being sensible. When in the studio
You could trip over something in the classroom To avoid this again be sensible and be aware of
your surroundings
Lights could get really hot Don’t touch them when theyre on
