Optimising volunteer involvement and engagement
Volunteering has been the foundation of Not for Profit
organisations for many years enabling them to maximise
fundraising efforts and build profile and branding within the
community. However, it has become an ever increasing
challenge for NGO’s to maintain and engage volunteers as
the push for commercialisation increases to improve efficiency
and profitability. So what is the cost and the potential impact
on the future of these values based organisations? Leah
has been involved and committed in accessing useful
resources including volunteers to complete projects of
high importance. With her experience as a volunteer and
stakeholder engagement strategist for Save the Children,
as well as a ministerial appointee on the Canterbury
Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) community forum,
Leah will discuss:
• Strategy and positioning of volunteers in your organisation
for the future
• Skills to maintain volunteer and stakeholder involvement
to benefit your organisation
• Recognise areas of organisational inadequacy to optimise
and improve volunteer practices
