  1. 1. Make a difference in the world using technology (nobly and fairly) INNOVATIONFORTHEBENEFITOFHUMANKIND JANUARY, 2021
  2. 2. - Create a positive change in the world by in fl uencing the direction and changing the status quo of the technical community at large, independent of the corporate agenda. - Drive our destinies, by leading for the sake of good: - As a group, we are in the best position to de fi ne optimal approaches to protect citizens, create positive change, while still having the latitude to nimbly run our businesses . - We band together to 'own our space' before bad actors try to exploit, or potentially 'thorny' public situations arise, inviting perhaps well-intended, but likely ill-advised legislative or regulatory involvement. 3. 3. - Members do not infringe on each other's privacy. - What is discussed/shared in the meeting stays in the meeting - Any publication must receive approval from all members involved. - We are not here to disparage or criticize for the sake of doing so. We are here to proactively address a few questions, such as: - Identify core problems/shortcomings - What are the drivers leading to the current state of things? - What can be done to encourage impactful and positive change in all directions? - We will not discuss anything that could be considered ‘antitrust’ or ‘anti-competitive’. 5. 5. The Internet we have today is barely more than two decades old, and we still lack the online equivalents of clothing and shelter. All social, economic and political graces arising from personal privacy require personal independence, sovereignty and agency over what others can learn about us. Through anonymity, personal privacy is a public grace. It’s why we don’t wear a name- tag when we walk down the street. The privacy manifesto open to the public includes 34 points, and in the pre fi x to these 34 declarations/rules/ideas it states: 1. New laws risk putting the regulatory cart in front of the horse of tech and norms. - Is this true? 2. Existing law may be enough at this early stage, when there is little tech to lock our personal data barns. …IAMUTTERLYCONFUSED-WHATISPRIVACY?ANDWHYISITSOIMPORTANT?!
  6. 6. One of our founding members, an inventor in the areas of advanced authentication, anomaly detection and fraud prevention. Chris has also spent several years working for both Amazon and Wells Fargo leading a variety of fraud and cyber defense sectors. Chris recently started a new enterprise focused on designing and developing new app/AI-based solutions to help seniors live more independent, yet connected and joyful lives. CHRISCLAUSEN
