5. • The existing furniture will be retained and
re-arranged for better flow and use of space.
• The walls needed to be painted.
• The curtain rails were removed and re-
installed higher up on the wall, and the
curtains lengthened.
• A built in wall unit was installed for storage
and display.
• There is a lot of framed art for the limited
wall space.
• Floating shelves will be installed for
displaying framed family photos.
9. A section of the long wall
which spans the depth of the
town house was painted the
contrasting colour and the
artwork was hung gallery
style as a focal point and to
balance the wall unit on the
opposite wall.
The eight-seater dining table
was placed adjacent to the
wall which helps to define
the dining area.
11. It’s always a good idea to hang a mirror opposite a
window. A quick easy way to gain light and a sense
of space, as well as bringing the outside in.
The raised curtain rails and
lengthened curtains elongated the
walls and made the space feel
roomier.

13. Remember the
pine wall units?
One of the sections
was painted using
the same
contrasting colour.
A door was added
to enclose the top
shelf space. It has a
second life
now, and is used as
a wet bar when the
home owners have
friends and family
over.
