Key OECD recommendations to
boost gender equality results
1. Build on GRF to develop an overarching strategy for gender equality, to
help to orient, coordinate and drive gender equality initiatives forward
2. Scale up the mandate of Status of Women Canada to expand the focus from
women and align with the broader nature of GBA+
3. Continue to strengthen the application, scope and rigour of GBA+ through
developing criteria to assess its quality, and improving transparency
4. Build on successful examples of parliamentary and audit interventions
through greater incorporation of a gender perspective in oversight functions
5. Further advance gender budgeting through developing a more
comprehensive Equalities Chapter and implementing gender budgeting
across the budget cycle
