1. Processing Activity
I completed the Processing Activity at Miller Grove High School. The Media Specialist had about
10 books that needed to be cataloged. Either they were gifts from other schools or there were
duplicate bar codes. The procedure in my County is to send books that need to be cataloged to
our County Office. Today, I had the pleasure of assisting.
The MS prefers to use the Library of Congress. We searched for the cataloging information
making sure that there were no duplicates. Once I cataloged the books, choose the next
barcode and wrote the number in the Barcode Book, stamped the school’s name in the books,
and added anti-theft stickers the books were ready to be added to the shelves.
I enjoyed the entire process!
