Ilaria Fava & Clara Armenagou present DOAJ services. Workshop title: DOAJ and open access publishing learn more and discover our services Workshop abstract: The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) is a database of Open Access journals that is maintained and curated by a community of professionals all over the world. The aim of the DOAJ is to build a reliable list of reputable Open Access journals providing all relevant information in a clear and immediate way. After the recent tightening of inclusion criteria, DOAJ is now even more committed to providing important information on journals’ publishing practices, like peer-review processes, article processing and submission charges, content licenses, the composition of Editorial Boards, and so on. This activity is aimed at increasing trust in Open Access in general, and in Open Access journals specifically. DOAJ is a well-established reality, but needs to be more utilised and developed worldwide in order to obviate the perceived need for lists of questionable publishers. DOAJ is a service – not only to researchers, funders and managers – but also for librarians and commercial content aggregators. This workshop could be the occasion to collect opinions on DOAJ from participants in order to shape its future evolution and developments.
