Huge potential market:
 Partly replacing crude oil on all EU refineries requires several
hundreds of Empyro sized plants.
 In the US pyrolysis oil is also becoming part of advanced biofuels

16. Opportunities in Ukraine
• Sunflower husk is a good feedstock for the production of
pyrolysis oil.
• Payback time is too long for use in Ukraine itself.
• There is an interesting business case for producing this oil in
Ukraine and transporting it to the Netherlands for use on
boilers today.
• The EU Renewable Energy Directive dictates the use of
advanced biofuels from 2020.
• In the coming years we expect pyrolysis oil demand from
refineries in Europe.
