Veterinary medicine is the branch of science that deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease, disorder and injury in animals. The scope of veterinary medicine is wide, covering all animal species, both domesticated and wild
The All India Common entrance is held to fill up only 15% of the seats in every state’s veterinary college.
During their internship they will be made to devote to the clinical aspect of training and the management aspect. Also, you treat not just dogs or cats. You treat ponies, cows, goats and such like. For UK you may be required to give the IELTS. For the US you will be filling detailed application forms and you might have to give the GRE. There are no vet colleges in Singapore.
Colleges abroad do not necessarily give you a 5 year degree. Their courses also vary from something as specific as surgery or a diploma in veterinary bioscience or even animal husbandry, animal medicine. Undergraduate and postgraduate courses are available in a variety of subjects related to veterinary science.
No specializations- like in humans we have a different doc for every disease/ body part. Not in the case of animals. Not in India.
