Given that the ‘home office’ became the new normal for many of us, at least for a while, it’s important to learn how to be productive while working from home. Here are a few tips that we hope you might find helpful!
2. Starting early in the morning means finishing your work in
time and, besides, getting more free time!
You are your own personal manager, so if you want to
avoid losing your focus, try to schedule what and when
you'll do during the course of the day.
Create personal events and reminders that tell you when
to start on a new task.
GET STARTED EARLY1.
3. Every morning, get ready for work just the way you
would normally do when going to the office.
The mental association you make between work and
an office can make you more productive.
Do all the things you'd do to prepare for an office role:
set your alarm, make coffee and get changed out of
your pajamas!
2. treat it like a real job
4. Dedicate a specific room or surface in your home to work.
Try to create a space at home that looks and feels like an
office to you.
You'll be more inclined to stay working and, as a result,
your productivity will increase!
3. Choose a dedicated workspace
5. When possible, use video over the standard
conference call to help create more interactions
and avoid loneliness.
Try to have as much face-to-face interaction online
as possible.
4. Show your face
6. Social media can be the detriment of your productivity.
Try to stay away from messing around on social media.
So during work hours, choose the "Incognito" mode of
Chrome because this ensures you stay signed out of all
your accounts.
It's a guarantee that you won't be tempted into taking too
many social breaks during the day.
5. limit your social media use
7. Set up regular check-ins with your team or manager that
allow you to provide progress updates, fix problems or
have brainstorm ideas.
Use FaceTime, Zoom and other video tools during
meetings or just to chat with coworkers to help avoid
loneliness.
6. Interact with others
8. Hitting the pause button throughout the work day
can be a boon to productivity.
So take short coffee breaks and some time to to
swap stories with your family!
Going for a walk during your break could also help
a lot.
7. Take a break
9. If you don’t have a discipline, you’ll be tempted to have a
snack every 10 minutes and it isn’t good for your health.
Avoid overeating when you work from home!!!
Otherwise, if you are the type of person who never takes a
break, set a timer to remind you to have your lunch and to
turn off your work for a while.
8. Stay out of the kitchen
10. This can be difficult, especially if you have young children
at home or have multiple pets, all of whom want your
attention.
But be sure to set and stick to specific work hours and
clearly communicate those hours with your family and
friends.
9. Avoid Family, Friends and Pets
11. Working from home doesn't mean you have to work
more hours or days!!!
Try to find at least one day a week where you unplug
from work completely!
Taking time off to recharge can do more for your
mental health, productivity and energy levels than you
might realize.
10. TAKE YOUR DAYS OFF SERIOUSLY
