attributes you posses. This should be a brief
paragraph highlighting some key skills. You can
make it specific to the job or industry you are
applying for or keep it general.

General
 Tell me about yourself.
 Why did you leave your last job/Why are you leaving your current job?
 What would your previous co-workers and supervisors say about you?
 Why do you want to work for our Company?
 Why should we hire you over someone else for this position?
 What are your greatest strengths? What weaknesses would you like to improve on?
 What are you seeking in your next job?
 What motivates you to do your best on the job?
 What qualities do you value in a Supervisor?
 What has been a professional accomplishment you are significantly proud of?
COMMON INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
Behavioral-Based
 Give an example of a time when you had to make an important decision between
different options.
 Provide an example of a time when you used good judgment and logic to solve a
problem.
 Give me an example of a specific occasion in which you had to conform to a policy or
decision you didn’t agree with.
 Tell me about a time when you had to go above and beyond the call of duty to
accomplish a task.
 Tell me about a time when you had to take initiative to develop an idea or project.
What was it and how were the results?
 Tell me about a time when you had to teach someone a new skill or procedure.
 Tell me about a time when you had to work well under pressure.
 Tell me about a time when you resolved a conflict or disagreement with another
employee on the job.
CLOSING THE INTERVIEW
 Job seekers often second-guess themselves after
interviews.
 By asking good questions and closing strongly, you can reduce
post-interview doubts.
 If you feel that the interview went well and you want to take
the next step, express your interest to the interviewer.
 Try an approach like the following:
"After learning more about your company, the position and
responsibilities, I believe that I have the qualities you are looking
for. Are there any issues or concerns that would lead you to
believe otherwise?"
CLOSING THE INTERVIEW
 If concerns do exist, you may be able to create an
opportunity to overcome them, and have one final
chance to dispel the concerns.
 Sell your strengths and end the interview on a positive
note.
 Make sure that you have thoroughly answered these
questions during the interview:
 "Why are you interested in our company?" and "What can you
offer?"
 Express appreciation for the interviewer's time and
consideration.
 Don't expect an offer to be made or a specific salary to be
discussed during your first interview.
THE FOLLOW UP
 After your interview, follow-up is critical.
 When you get in your car, immediately write down key issues
uncovered in the interview. Think of the qualifications the
employer is looking for and match your strengths to them.
 A "thank you" letter or email should be written no later than 24
hours after the interview.
 If you are working with a recruiter be sure to call them to
discuss your interview and your next steps.

COMMON INTERVIEW QUESTIONS Behavioral-Based  Give an example of a time when you had to make an important decision between different options.  Provide an example of a time when you used good judgment and logic to solve a problem.  Give me an example of a specific occasion in which you had to conform to a policy or decision you didn’t agree with.  Tell me about a time when you had to go above and beyond the call of duty to accomplish a task.  Tell me about a time when you had to take initiative to develop an idea or project. What was it and how were the results?  Tell me about a time when you had to teach someone a new skill or procedure.  Tell me about a time when you had to work well under pressure.  Tell me about a time when you resolved a conflict or disagreement with another employee on the job.

CLOSING THE INTERVIEW  Job seekers often second-guess themselves after interviews.  By asking good questions and closing strongly, you can reduce post-interview doubts.  If you feel that the interview went well and you want to take the next step, express your interest to the interviewer.  Try an approach like the following: "After learning more about your company, the position and responsibilities, I believe that I have the qualities you are looking for. Are there any issues or concerns that would lead you to believe otherwise?"
  • 39. CLOSING THE INTERVIEW  If concerns do exist, you may be able to create an opportunity to overcome them, and have one final chance to dispel the concerns.  Sell your strengths and end the interview on a positive note.  Make sure that you have thoroughly answered these questions during the interview:  "Why are you interested in our company?" and "What can you offer?"  Express appreciation for the interviewer's time and consideration.  Don't expect an offer to be made or a specific salary to be discussed during your first interview.
  • 40. THE FOLLOW UP  After your interview, follow-up is critical.  When you get in your car, immediately write down key issues uncovered in the interview. Think of the qualifications the employer is looking for and match your strengths to them.  A "thank you" letter or email should be written no later than 24 hours after the interview.  If you are working with a recruiter be sure to call them to discuss your interview and your next steps.
