We believe more than 50.000 handshakes went down during Oslo Innovation Week
and that OIW is a place for inspiration and new ideas. We asked the attendees,

11. OIW Company Crawl
Open House with Oslo’s most
Innovative big companies
OIW Company Crawl was a multi-event where a curated
selection of pioneering companies opened their doors to
meet OIW delegates such as executives, entrepreneurs and
creatives. The purpose was to highlight the most innovative
big companies in the region, and to connect these with
relevant network such as the startup-community.
The companies in 2015 were OSL, Opera, Statoil, Finn.no
and Snøhetta - chosen because of their outstanding work
with innovation and cutting edge development. Each of them
had one slot in the OIW Company Crawl schedule. The
events included talks, workshops, debates, presentations,
recruitment or networking sessions.

12. Let’s Talk and Afterwork
These concepts invited participants of OIW
to engage in conversation, gain new insight
and create network.
At OIW Let’s Talk startups, entrepreneurs and
innovators were invited to book meetings with keynote
speakers, experts and investors.
OIW Afterwork at MESH was a hangout spot on
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.
Participants could network, have a drink, and hear pop-
up talks on Tech, Startup and Creative.

13. OIW 100 Pitches
Pitch contest with the 100 best startups
The most talented and promising startups joined Oslo Innovation Week
to pitch their innovative business ideas. 100 startups got to pitch at the
entry rounds, hosted by MESH Norway, 657 Oslo, Oslo Cancer
Cluster, Mashup Norway, Simula Garage, Oslo EdTech Cluster, ICT
Norway, Avd Frysja, The Trampery (UK), Capital Factory (US), StartUp
Lab, and more.
6 finalists pitched at the finale at the OIW Supermixer. The jury: Bård
Stranheim (Innovasjon Norge), Sean Percival (500 Startups), Tellef
Thorleifsson (Northzone), Ekaterina Gianelli (Inventure), Kristin Riise
(DnB) and Head of Jury Jeanne Sullivan (Sullivan Adventures,
StarVest).
Skin Analytics (UK) won the main prize, 300.000 NOK (sponsored by
DNB, Kongsberg Gruppen AS and Innovation Norway) and a free slot
at one of Innovation Norway’s global programs. Space (NO) won the
London-prize: Free desk space at Oslo Innovation Embassy at The
Trampery and consultancy from London & Partners, Oury Clark and
JMB Partnership.

14. Hospitality
To give visitors the full Oslo experience we
created Oslo Local, an online culture
calendar with recommendations of what the
city has to offer outside of the conference. 6
Oslo experts were asked to namedrop the
best of Shopping (Studio F5), Coffee (Tim
Wendelboe), Food (Even Ramsvik/Ylajali)
Nightlife (Ronnie Ottem), Urban Nature
(Stakkars Oss), and Music (Øyafestivalen).
Visiting journalists and media had access to
an OIW Press Lounge at MESH during the
week with WiFi and OIW crew available.

15. The Opening Event
The official opening event of Oslo Innovation
Week 2015 was hosted at Oslo National
Opera & Ballet on Monday October 12th.
The event included talks from kick-ass speakers like Orit
Hashay (isr/Brayola), Kathrine Myhre (Oslo MedTech
Cluster), Anita Krohn Traaseth (Innovation Norway),
Jeanne Sullivan (us) and many more. Torgny Amdam
was moderator. “Gründerplanen” was launched by Siv
Jensen and Monika Mæland. Music performance by
Susanne Sundfør. Guests included Crown Prince
Haakon Magnus, business innovators, entrepreneurs,
opinion leaders, politicians, media etc. Gelato Group won
Oslo Innovation Award 2015.

20. In 2015 the organization Oslo Innovation Week was funded by The
City of Oslo (1 mill NOK) and Innovation Norway (700.000 NOK),
with a total budget of 1.7 million Norwegian kroner.
In addition, the prize for OIW 100 Pitches was sponsored by
Innovation Norway (150.000 NOK), DnB (100.000 NOK) and
Kongsberg Gruppen (50.000 NOK).
The OIW organization and the organizers report a total of 16.9 mill
NOK on production costs.

21. About Oslo Innovation Week
The week-long series of events identifies international leading trends and development
in innovation and entrepreneurship, making it a significant meeting place to discuss
opportunities and practices for innovation every year. Oslo Innovation Week is 5 days
packed with activities such as talks, seminars, debates, workshops, expos, speed dates,
crowd funding events, open houses and networking events. It’s a platform to meet
relevant people and network, to get an overview of what’s stirring on the startup scene in
Norway and internationally, and to attend a number of world-class events across Oslo.
The events are hosted by individual businesses and corporations, organizations, startup
incubators and research- and educational institutions, who apply to become an official
event organizer. Oslo Innovation Week is owned by the City of Oslo and Innovation
Norway. Oslo Business Region is project manager.

Oslo Innovation Week is owned by the City of Oslo and

manager. OIW’s strategy is also secured by a Board
and an Advisory Board.
Companies and organizations apply to become an
event organizer. When the event criteria is met, the
event will be presented as one of the events during the
official OIW program.
