Introduction
Pure listening builds trust, credibility,
and respect. One reason is that when you
fully listen instead of trying to compose
your response, the result is a relevant
and on-target response. What you say
when you do respond is proof of how well
you listen.
>looking around


                                    >come across as rushed



         The “Preoccupied’s”
>doing smth. else        >can’t sit still and LISTEN




                    >multitaskers
The “Out-to-Lunchers”

                                            >blank look on their faces

>daydreaming




               >Physically there for you but not Mentally
The “Interrupters”
>ready to chime in at any given time
                                        >complete the sentence for you

      >try to guess what you will say

                              >they are NOT Listening to you
The “Whatevers”
>remain aloof
            >show little emotion


                            >DON’T CARE about anything you have to say
The “Combatives”
              >are armed and ready for war



>enjoy Disagreeing and Blaming others
The “Analysts”
>ANALYZE-WHAT-YOU-ARE-SAYING-AND-FIX-IT mode




  >counselor and therapist

 >provide you with unsolicited answers
          >love to help

      >think are great listeners
The “Engagers”
                                              >let your ideas unfold


                                         >encourage you to continue talking


                                   >let you discover your own solutions


>put themselves in the speaker’s shoes

                            >the Consciously Aware Listeners

                   >LISTEN with their eyes, ears and hearts
