A report of the Dept of Economic Affairs as on 15 Nov 2009 estimates the value of contracts awarded in PPP mode at 2,24,176 crores In the 11th Plan as on 01 Oct 2009, 454 of the 905 projects had overrun time ranging from 1 to 324 months resulting in a cost increase of 12.3% of the original cost. Cost overruns have cost the national exchequer an additional ₹67,264.24 crores.
