2. ABOUT A.I....
The study of computer
systems that attempt to model
and apply the intelligence of
the human mind.
2)A branch of computer
science dealing with the
simulation of intelligent
behaviour in computers.
3)The capability of a machine
to imitate intelligent human
behaviour.
3. EARLY HISTORY
In 1950 English mathematician
Alan Turing wrote a landmark
paper titled “Computing
Machinery and Intelligence”
that asked the question: “Can
machines think?”
Further work came out of a
1956 workshop at Dartmouth
sponsored by John McCarthy.
In the proposal for that
workshop, he coined the
phrase a “study of Artificial
Intelligence”
4. TURING TEST
*Proposed by Alan Turing(1950), a British Computer Scientist.
*Intelligence is defined as the ability to achieve human level
performance in all cognitive tests, sufficient to fool a human
interrogator.
* The test was devised in response to the question,” Can a
computer think ?” .
6. Is it Boon or Threat to Humankind?
Science and technology have now reached a level of evolution
where computers can recreate human level intelligence. One of the
most widely anticipated scientific developments of our time, artificial
intelligence or “super intelligence” has taken the world by storm.
As per well known scientist Stephen Hawking, Success in creating
AI could be the biggest event in human history, but could also be the
last.

Siri
Cortana
All intelligent digital personal assistants on various platforms (iOS,
Android, and Windows Mobile). In short, they help find useful
information when we ask for it using our voice.
We can use them to make calls, send messages, set reminders,
take notes, recognize music, find great restaurants, check your
calendar, and more.

11. SOPHIA ROBOT
Sophia is a social humanoid
robot developed by Hong
Kong-based company Hanson
Robotics. Sophia was
activated on April 19, 2015 and
made her first public
appearance at South by
Southwest Festival in mid-
March 2016 in Austin, Texas,
United States. She is able to
display more than 62 facial
expressions.
12. In October 2017, the robot
became a Saudi Arabian
citizen, the first robot to
receive citizenship of any
country. In November 2017,
Sophia was named the United
Nations Development
Programme's first ever
Innovation Champion, and the
first non-human to be given
any United Nations title
