• Create variation of color
by increasing either the
blue or red in the mixture.

Paint behind the
wave with a midtone
blue:

paint the white foam
on top of the waves
and smudge and
spread it with your
finger.
•Bring the dark blue
mix up into the foam
to shade it.
TRY TO KEEP FINGERS CLEAN BY WIPING WITH A DAMP CLOTH.

•DEMO
•SET UP PRACTICE AREA
•Mask the painting with torn
paper around the area you wish
to splatter.
•Use a flat bristle brush and
white diluted paint.
•Hold paint brush securely over
the area you wish to splatter.
Pull the palette knife upwards
thru the brush.
•Practice first before attempting.
•Use a diluted grey-blue to add
depth with additional splatters.
•Smear a few of the splatters.
