To Whom It May Concern:
I have had the privilege of working with Pear (Colin Nicholson) through the past 6 years.
He has been my supervisor since 1999, when I began working at the Boardroom
Snowboard Shop. I have held many positions within that company, including Assistant
Manager, and Women’s Apparel Buyer.
Pear has always impressed me with his leadership style. He is able to encourage the staff
to complete tasks in a timely manner. He recognizes and rewards outstanding
performances by employees. He capitalizes on the diverse talents present within any
group of employees, for the best possible outcome. He is tactful and effective in
discipline, and constructive in criticism.
I have also been impressed by his ability to forge and maintain relationships with
suppliers. As a buyer, I appreciated his support when under pressure to buy more, or
when I wasn’t sure that we would be able to secure a new line. I have helped with the
Slopestyle contest over the years, and was amazed that he could maintain sponsorship
levels, on the strength of relationships, from companies whose orders had been cut only
weeks before.
Pear has told me that he approaches his job daily as if he were the owner of the company:
making the best decisions that he can, and working as hard as he can. This attitude will
make Pear an invaluable asset to any company he chooses to work for.
Obviously, a reference letter is typically written by a supervisor. I asked Pear if I could
write a letter for him because I have learned so much from him over the years. I
encourage you to offer him a position that will take best advantage of the many skills and
qualities he possesses.
Please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Brenda Guevremont
