Students training and capacity programmes
To create a seamless delivery system that provides students with the opportunity to develop
through skill introduction, programs that develop team concepts, advanced training and elite
competition PQA focuses on the following areas
1. Behavior change communication programs (BCC)
Behavior change communication (BCC) is an interactive process of any intervention
with individuals, communities and/or societies (as integrated with an overall program) to
develop communication strategies to promote positive behaviors which are appropriate to
students’ settings. This in turn provides a supportive environment which will enable
students to initiate, sustain and maintain positive and desirable behavior outcomes in their
learning environment
BCC employs a systematic process beginning with formative research and behavior
analysis, followed by communication planning, implementation, and monitoring and

evaluation. Students are carefully segmented, messages and materials are pre-tested, and
both mass media and interpersonal channels are used to achieve defined behavioral
objectives.
2. Life skills programs (LSP)
PQA Life Skills Training (LST) is uniquely designed to be flexible and interactive. The
program can be taught either on an intensive schedule (two to three times a week) until
the program is complete, or on a more extended schedule (once a week until the program
is complete). Both formats have proven to be effective. While one year of LST has been
proven to achieve measurable positive effects, multi-year implementation is strongly
recommended.
3. Talent identification and development program (TIDP)
The Talent Identification and Development Program (TID) is a systematic revision of the
Player Development Program (PDP) that provides a clear pathway for athletes and
coaches in the high performance stream.
The outcomes of this restructuring include a downward shift in the ages of athletes that
OBA high performance programs target and better alignment with the appropriate age
categories as per the principles of Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD). More
athletes with high performance potential will be identified and provided stage-appropriate
training.
4. Public speaking and presentation (PSP)
Whether we're talking in a team meeting or presenting in front of an audience, we all
have to speak in public from time to time. We can do this well or we can do this badly,
and the outcome strongly affects the way that people think about us. This is why public
speaking causes so much anxiety and concern. The good news is that, with thorough
preparation and practice, you can overcome your nervousness and perform exceptionally
well.
5. Creativity, competition and confidence development (3CD)
Building self-confidence and avoid mistakes that destroy creativity
6. Youth and students mentorship and Coaching programs (YSMP)
The PQA Coaching and Mentoring programme focuses on how to better the students’
higher performance. Coaching is a process of relationship building and setting goals.
