JUNAR Case study Lima peru m1117
1.
When the City of Lima, Peru decided to join the Open
Data movement, it selected Junar for its portal after an
intensive evaluation of Open Data software vendors.
The decision-making process was as follows:
OPEN SOURCE VS. SOFTWARE AS A
SERVICE
Since the city wanted to limit how much internal
manpower would be required both during deployment
and for maintaining the system for years to come, the
option of using open source software (OSS) was
quickly rejected. The city focused its evaluation on the
leading commercial vendors of Open Data Portals.
COMPLETE FEATURES AND
FUNCTIONALITY
Junar’s platform delivered all of the features required
to support Lima’s requirements. This included:

• Transforming data into consumable
information that delivers a consumer-friendly
end-user experience
• Providing comprehensive API for internal and
external developers
