1. FSU BASEBALL FINDS ITS NEW HEAD COACH IN LINK JARRETT
The managing partner and founder of OIFLP Investments Philip F. Dannunzio has built an
accomplished career as an executive specializing in sales, manufacturing, and product
development. Philip F. Dannunzio is an alumnus of Florida State University (FSU), where he
played on the FSU Seminoles baseball team, which ranked number one in the US during the
1988-89 preseason.
Less than two months after instigating a nationwide search for a new baseball coach following
the departure of Mike Martin, Jr., FSU Athletics announced that Link Jarrett will be joining the
Seminoles as head coach. Jarrett is the 10th head baseball coach to lead the FSU baseball team
since its inception in 1948. A native of Tallahassee and an FSU alum, he has spent the last
decade as a Division I head coach and has received numerous accolades for his leadership and
coaching expertise in that time.
During his tenure as head coach of the UNC Greensboro Spartans, Jarrett led his team to the
Southern Conference Regular Season Championship in 2017 and 2018. During the latter year,
the Spartans became national champions with a conference record of 18-3. Under his
leadership, the Spartans also made it to the 2017 NCAA Regional for the first time in 20 years.
Jarrett brought the Spartans to a record of 215-166 by the end of his time at UNC.
Most recently, Jarrett brought his coaching expertise to Notre Dame, where he was head coach
of the Fighting Irish during three of their most successful seasons to date. He was the first head
coach in Notre Dame history to lead the team to back-to-back Super Regionals. Moreover,
Jarrett saw the Irish make it to their third College World Series in the team’s history. During that
same season, the team finished with its best record in 14 years. Jarrett’s dedicated leadership
of the Irish earned him the National Coach of the Year award during the 2021 and 2022 baseball
seasons. He has received the conference Coach of the Year award three times during his career
as a head coach - twice while at UNC Greensboro and once at Notre Dame.
Jarrett began his coaching career at the St. Augustine-based Flagler College before traveling
throughout much of the Southern US to coach at other schools. He spent two seasons as a
recruiting coordinator at Mercer College and three at East Carolina University, where he was an
assistant coach. During those three seasons, Jarrett and the rest of the coaching staff led the
team to the NCAA regionals three times. In 2009, his final season at East Carolina, he became
Conference USA Assistant Coach of the Year.
From 2010-2012, Jarrett led the Auburn University Tigers as an assistant coach, helping catapult
the team to an SEC West win during his first season. That same year, he was named SEC
Assistant Coach of the Year. As head of the Tigers’ offense, Jarrett helped his players set new
school records in home runs, batting average, and slugging percentage.
2. Jarrett will bring his wealth of knowledge and experience to the FSU Seminoles starting in the
2023 baseball season. He is making a triumphant return to the coaching staff at FSU after
briefly serving as an assistant in 2003. Jarrett also played shortstop on the Seminole team
during his own studies at FSU and made appearances at three College World Series. Thirty years
later, he is still the NCAA record holder for most career assists at 802.
