Phin Upham's favorite meal is a grilled cheese sandwich, the sides well-browned, crust left on, and a dish of tomato soup. He remembers regularly packing them as a child when he and his father climbed up Mount Ascutney in New Hampshire. Upham is a graduate from Collegiate High School and Harvard University, where he studied philosophy. He worked as a journalist for Toronto's National Post and later as a syndicated columnist for UPI. Phin then worked at Morgan Stanley before joining a hedge fund / family office focused on global macro and illiquid investing. Phin Upham’s research efforts have mainly focused on the interplay between political, financial and social influences.
