For my FMP I will mainly be working with film, but I also plan own making a poster for my film was I
will also be working in graphic design.
Rationale:
Throughout the 2 years I have gotten a lot experience and skills which will help me with my FMP.
The projects that gave me the most helpful experience for this project would have been my music
video project and my short horror film project where I learned how to use a camera and a tripod
and learned about storyboards and make a story without dialogue, I also learned how to colour
grade to set the scene of your film, I did this with my horror film and made it look dark and gloomy,
which are useful skills have for my FMP. Another project that I learned new skills from was the
documentary project because taught me how to use premiere pro. I learned how to make
animation within photoshop to create my own transition and I also learned about different effects
you can add to your video files and I also learned how to subtitle as well.
Project Concept:
The concept of my project is a short action film which will be 7-9 minutes long and will be about a
hitman who is hire by a crime family who would rather kill him then pay him and takes revenge on
them. I also want to make the start for the film the end, but the audience won't know that until they
have watched the whole film. My film will be a lot like the John Wick films and take inspiration from
them so I will research them films to see what made them so great and I would also like to recreate
the gun fu element the films had because it’s a cool action technique and is what makes John
Wick great, my film will also be mainly set in one environment so that the story is contained, and it
will make filming easier. I will also conduct interviews and surveys to see what my target audience
is and what they like in action films. I will also research have to make special effects like a gunshot
or an explosion, this will help my project because then I will know how to make special effect which
will make my project more dramatic, intense, and realistic.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
To evaluate my work I will make a production reflection so that I can see what went well and what
didn't while in the production stage for my project, I will also make an evaluation after I finished my
project compare it to my originally idea for the film and see if I kept to that idea or did, I change so
elements and then I will compare it to similar product, for example John Wick and see the
similarities and differences with the two products, then I will go other what went well and what
didn’t go well and they have could I of improve it if I had extra time. I will also look at if my final
product fits the target audience I set for the film and see if it would appeal to them. This will help
develop my skills and ideas because next time I make a project I will know what worked and what
did not work.
