First Aid is considered as the provision
of initial care for a condition or damage to
the human body. Its usually performed by
an ordinary person to a sick injured
casualty until definite medical treatment is
accessed . First aid is the assistance or
support given to any person suffering an
injury or sudden illness.

Re assure the casualty and his relative

Immediate arrest of hemorrhage (Bleeding) .
Restoration of respiration and circulation.
7. Golden Rule of First Aid
Air way – Make sure that patient’s airway
is open- Mouth and nose.
B- Confirm breathing
C-Confirm circulation( pulse)
8. Safety in Daily Life
Personal care
a. Keep your cell phones and money purse in your front
pocket.
b. Drive safely and economically ; Speed thrills but kills.
c. Make sure that nobody is following you or your vehicle.
d. Avoid taking short cuts when you are in unknown
places.
e. Always remember important cell numbers.
9. General/ Common Care
• Avoid carrying children and hot food or drinks at
the same time.
•Avoid playing with matches and inflammable
materials.
•Never leave burning lights and candles
unattended.
•Keep useful container with water when you are
working with fires.
10. Fractures
1) Open fracture
Open fractures are accompanied by bleeding and swelling
. The bone fragments may pierces through the skin. It is
highly dangerous with severe risk of infection if not
handled properly.
Symptoms
Bleeding, swelling ,pain, bone may peep out of the skin
surface
Management
Rest, Evaluation, wound may be given a loose dressing ,
cold application , arrest the injured part.
11. 2) Closed fracture
If the skin has not been broken it is closed fracture
. According to the degree of the injury we can
classify the closed fracture in to many.
Symptoms
Local swelling , restricted movements or abnormal
movements, pain , deformity etc.
Management
Rest, cold application, elevation, arrest the movements
