A newspaper was a novel concept until “Modern newspapers” took over the stage in the 1700s.
The first of its kind was curated in 1709 through three plates having yellow, blue and red coloured inks.
The very first newspaper was launched and circulated in 1690 with the name - Publick Occurrences Both Foreign and Domestic,
following which the first Boston Newsletter was released in 1704 titled ‘The Statute of Anne’

• 1949 - a publishing company named Salem Press was ventured by Frank N Magill in New York.
• One of his major contributions is print magazines which were initiated when bulk printing took place.
• With the invention of ‘Magical Box’ in 1939, the journey of television started as a medium for mass communication with
the function of informing, educating and entertaining the masses.
• Post Franklin Roosevelt’s broadcast on NBC, there was a surge in the sales of television sets and got fixated on the living
rooms of the masses.
• The year 1972 had the invention of the very first commercial video game console indicating the prominence of interactive
storytelling.
• Music videos started gaining popularity in the 1980s which started giving songs and music a visual dimension.
