1. INT.SUPERMARKET. DAY
The ANGRY SHOPPERS can be heard throughout the store. The
SPEAKERS blear loudly.
SPEAKER
Can Employee Maggie report to the
IT Counter, Immediately!
MAGGIE abruptly stops filling the shelf with apples and
drops the half empty box on the floor. She gives a DEEP and
LONG SIGH, whilst covering her face with her hands. She
leans against the cage of packaged food.Â
MAGGIE
Oh, not today. If he makes another
speech, I don't think I can handle
it.
MAGGIE with a quickened step walks towards the IT counter.
Her hands tentatively placed across her chest, the right
slowly stroking the bottom of her neck. She whispers quietly
to herself.
MAGGIE
Be calm, be calm. Nothing gonna
happen, it's nothing. Really
it's... nothing.
She passes a young mother trying some stylish hats on her
baby son. She gives a shy smile and proceeds to the counter.
The baby is GIGGLING uncontrollably as the mother places the
hats on his head. MAGGIE steals another glance at the baby
boy, the young boy is staring back at her with a quizzical
look across his face. Her momentary glance is rudely
interrupted. Â Â
MUFFLED VOICE (HANNA)
So you call this immediately! I
know what to do........
MAGGIE gives a involuntary jump. Her hands instinctively
jump to her chest. The voice quickly turns into a GIRLISH
LAUGH. A shadow can be seen in the darkened backroom of the
IT counter.Â
MAGGIE
I'm so sorry, what seems to be the
problem. Wait... Han is that you?
MAGGIE peered deeper into the the darkened backroom, trying
to make out a face. The darkened outline steps closer. The
LAUGHTER still continuing.
HANNA
Sis, got you so good.
The shadow soon appeared to be a young woman, her bright red
hair quickly became apparent. Her HUGE LAUGH slowly receding
as she gives MAGGIE a long and loving hug. MAGGIE sinks deep
into her hug. MAGGIE reluctantly releases from her grasp and
sits down at the nearby chairs.
2. HANNA
M Dog, what's up.
MAGGIE
Told you not to call me that.
MAGGIE'S smile slowly returning. HANNA skips over to the
chairs, her bangles RATTLE as she sits in the chair next to
her. She sits in a over exaggerated pose hands under her
chin, she stare intently into MAGGIE eye's.
HANNA
It's my job call you names, we're
sisters.
MAGGIE
Well, not really.
HANNA gives a fake hurt face, her arms go onto her face in a
over dramatic fashion. Her face soon turns into a huge
smile.
MAGGIE
It's ABIGAIL.
HANNA soon drops the the playful demeanor, reaches over a
gives MAGGIE a huge hug. MAGGIE as always sinks into her
embrace. MAGGIE eye's soon water up. They both sit in
silence as MAGGIE quietly CRIES.
MAGGIEÂ Â Â Â Â
 I.. I, just miss her.
HANNA
Shh, remember what she said.
HANNA'S embrace tightens as she slowly strokes MAGGIE'S
forehead. MAGGIE'S sobbing is interrupted as she recites her
lines. MAGGIE brow frowns as she tries to remember her
lines.Â
MAGGIE
I am strong, I am pow....
HANNA joins in to help MAGGIE.
HANNA
Am Powerful, I am Safe.
MAGGIE is stroking her neck as she continues to recite her
lines. HANNA slowly releases MAGGIE. MAGGIE continues to say
her lines.
MAGGIE
I am strong, I am powerful, I am
safe. I am strong, I am powerful, I
am safe.
HANNA knells down in front of MAGGIE, holds her head in her
hands. Gives her a subdued smile.
HANNA
Better?
3. MAGGIE
Better.
HANNA
So what's up with my A dog?
MAGGIE suddenly bursts out into nervous laughter. HANNA
quickly joins her. MAGGIE laugh is distorted with her
subsiding sobs.
MAGGIE
You can add dog after anything,
can't you?
HANNA
What can I say, I'm that good.
The girls share a smaller quieter LAUGH. HANNA sits back
down next to her. Â
MAGGIE
It's that God Damn daycare center,
I don't trust them.
HANNA
I know, who can trust someone
called TERESA.
The sound of customers SHOUTING echoes through the store. A
middle aged man appears behind the two girls. They both jump
instinctively. His stern expression and name tag show that
he is the Manager.
JEFF
So this is what I pay you for!
JEFF makes his way round to the front of the girls, his arms
on his hips. He straights his tie and name tag.
JEFF
I'm surprised.
HANNA
Really?
JEFF dismisses the comment and glares at MAGGIE.
JEFF
Especially with you MAGGIE, this
isn't you. And you HANNA, do you
want this Job.
MAGGIE'S head is down, her face is red, she slowly stand up
and makes her way to her post. She tries to avoid eye
contact with JEFF as she make her way away. HANNA has made
herself more comfortable putting her feet over the arm
rests, she elongates her arms over the surrounding chairs.
MAGGIE
So sorry, I am stro... Sorry.
JEFF intentionally raises his voice, so the fleeing MAGGIE
can hear. He push his chest out, and stands straighter. Â
4. JEFF
HANNA this is no way...
HANNA
JEFF, can I ask you a question?
JEFF
Err, well...
HANNA quickly stands up and seductively walks towards JEFF.
She straightens his tie and name tag. She leaves her hands
on his chest for a extended period of time. She leans in and
seductively WHISPERS into his ear.
HANNA
Do you... Do you...
HANNA drops her facade and moves back from JEFF. Removing
her hands from his chest and interlaces her finger, they
hang loosely across her torso. HANNA tilts her head in a
quizzical manner. JEFF affected by this frontal assault,
starts to STAMMER. His face glows red as he tries to
understand this assault.Â
JEFF
Do you...what?
JEFF tentatively takes a step towards HANNA, trying to
decode the mixed signals. HANNA mouth tuns into a
mischievous smile.  Â
HANNA
Do you act like a twat all the time
or just when you wear that stupid
name tag?
HANNA sticks her tongue at JEFF. Leaning towards him inÂ
child like pose. She promptly turns and walks away in a
proud and provocative walk. A disgruntled customer starts to
ask JEFF questions. The customer walks in front of JEFF as
he tries to reply to HANNA'S comment. HANNA turns back
around with a huge smile hung on her smug face.
HANNA
All the time. (Mimes)
JEFF face turns into a scowl. He tries to respond to the
assault from HANNA, but is interrupted by the customer.
HANNA skips off the catch up to MAGGIE.
HANNA
Hey, M Dog wait up.Â
