3. BACKGROUND
Emphasizes its carbohydrate content, so that its caloric value is high.
The nutrients more representative of the banana are potassium, magnesium, folic acid and
astringent substances of action; without passing through high its high input fiber, fruit-type
oligosaccharides.
Potassium is a mineral necessary for the transmission and generation of the nerve impulse,
and for the muscular activity normal, intervenes in the water balance within and outside
the cell.
Magnesium is related to the operation of intestine, nerves and muscles, is part of bones
and teeth, improves immunity and has a laxative effect.
Folic acid is involved in the production of red and white blood cells, in the synthesis of
genetic material and training antibodies in the immune system. It also helps to treat or
prevent anemia and spina bifida in the pregnancy.
6. FRESH CONSUMPTION AND INDUSTRIALIZATION
For consumption in fresh bananas must be intact, without bumps or bruises, skin color
is indicative of the degree of maturity.
The fruit does not require special storage conditions, simply keep them in a cool and
dry place protected from direct sunlight.
