What is Organizational Behaviour?
 “Organisational behaviour is a subset of management activities concerned with
understanding, predicting and influencing individual behaviour in organisational
setting.”—Callahan, Fleenor and Kudson.
 “Organisational behaviour is a branch of the Social Sciences that seeks to build
theories that can be applied” to predicting, understanding and controlling
behaviour in work organisations.”—Raman J. Aldag
 “Organisational behaviour is a field of study that investigates the impact that
individuals, groups and structure have on behaviour within the organisations for
the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organization’s
effectiveness.”—Stephens P. Robbins
Conceptual Foundation Of OB
 4 elements- People, Structure, technology, and external environment.
 It consists of a very broad body of body of knowledge with preamble boundaries.
 A conceptual frame work for understanding OB is presented by consist of 4 core
proportions
 OB Follows the Principal of human behaviour
 OB is Based on situational
 OB is based on system approach
 Cognitive frame work / Behaviouristic frame work/ social cognitive framework.
