Wil How presented on trendspotting and conveying data through visualization. The presentation introduced charting libraries that can be used like jqPlot, KendoUI and HighCharts. It provided primers on JSON, JavaScript frameworks and how to set up jqPlot. Examples of why charting and dashboards are useful were shown. The document covered extracting, transforming and loading data, and demonstrated bar charts, pyramid charts and pie charts using extracted data. Resources for free public data sets and charting libraries were also included.
