 Systematic process based on some educational
objectives
The term teaching method refers to the
general principles, pedagogy and
management strategies used for
classroom instruction.
The way that a teacher adopts to
transmit contents to students is called
teaching method.
Teaching method is a regular ways or orderly
procedure employed by the teacher in guiding
pupils in order to accomplish the
predetermined objectives of learning.
In a class room teaching, method is a
series of related and progressive acts
performed by a teacher and the students to
achieve the specific aims of the lesson.
Teacher centered approach &
Student centered approach
It should provide a variety of related
experiences and activities to students/pupils.
For producing developmental changes.
It should be capable to promote interest among
students.
It should train the students through self study.
It should focuses on selected information or
topics.
The teacher should act as a philosopher, guide,
motivator, friend etc to the students.
It should be based on the co-operation of
students as well as previous knowledge of the
teachers.
Factors determines the selection of teaching
method:

Nature of the child
Nature of the subject matter
Classroom environment
Expertise of the teacher
