Involve translators
Let them know that there own input is the training
material.
Empower users
Let users control the system, not be passive users.
MT is another technology, just like CAT tools or
terminology management.
Do not underestimate developing /
Implementing costs
MT will have an economic impact as an enhancer,
but things do not happen on their own. Present a
clear plan of WHY automation will bring financial
benefits.
MT is a business opportunity
It can transform the way an LSP provides services.
Transformation
It creates new services and business revenue. It
will also transform some roles.
NEVER SELL MT AS A COST-CUTTING
STRATEGY
MT translates what humans cannot (speed / cost /
volume).
MT helps the professional translator speed his/her
work.
MT is NOT a discount tool to pay less.

• Go beyond statistics (ongoing work, part of EXPERT project)
Hybrid approaches improve certain language pairs: Japanese (R&D with Japanese partners),
morphologically rich languages, Semitic languages.
• Continue building revenue streams on MT
MT allows Pangeanic to build other technologies (web, search, etc), enhance and improve its solutions to
its client portfolio and offer new services.
