The North Valley Regional Recycled Water Project is a regional solution created by RMC Water and Environment to address California's water crisis. It involves building water recycling facilities to produce between 25,000 and 30,000 acre-feet of tertiary treated water per year. This will help restore $29 million to California's agricultural production annually. The project has already received two awards for its innovative water recycling efforts.

Project
Headquartered in Walnut Creek, RMC Water and Environment operates seven offices
throughout California, where it provides a range of environmental planning and water
reuse and recycling services to the private and public sectors. One of RMC Water and
Environment’s most successful projects involves its work with the North Valley Regional
Recycled Water Program (NVRRWP), which it assisted with the acquisition of a Central
Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board NPDES permit that permitted the first
discharge of water to the Delta-Mendota Canal.
3. The North Valley Regional Recycled Water
Project
A regional solution with the aim of addressing the ongoing water crisis in California via
the creation of tertiary treated water recycling facilities, the NVRRWP will have a phased
implementation. The first phase involves the production and delivery of between 25,000
and 30,000 acre-feet of water, which will help California restore approximately $29 million
of yearly agricultural production.
4. The North Valley Regional Recycled Water
Project
The NVRRWP has already received recognition for its innovative water recycling efforts,
as it has received the California Association of Environmental Professionals’ 2016
Outstanding Environmental Analysis Document Award and the American Academy of
Environmental Engineers and Scientists’ 2015 Planning Honor Award.
