2. MEANING OF RESEARCH
Research is an academic activity and as such the
term should be used in a technical sense.
According to Clifford Woody research comprises
defining and redefining problems, formulating
hypothesis or suggested solutions; collecting,
organizing and evaluating data; making
deductions and reaching conclusions; and at last
carefully testing the conclusions to determine
whether they fit the formulating hypothesis.
3. DEFINITION OF RESEACH
Research is a systematic, formal, rigorous and
precise process employed to gain solutions to
problems or to discover and interpret new facts
and relationships.
investigation or experimentation aimed at the
discovery and interpretation of facts, revision of
accepted theories or laws in the light of new facts,
or practical application of such new or revised
theories or laws.
5. OBJECTIVES OF RESEARCH
RESEARCH is an organised investigation of a problem
where an investigator attempts to gain solution to a
problem.
In order to get the right solution a clearly defined
objectives are very important.
Without a clear objective researcher is aimless and
directionless in conducting the study.
Without focused objectives no replicable scientific
findings can be expected.
Research objective is a concrete statement describing
what the research is trying to achieve.
