DSFH Participates in the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators
(NDNQI®)
Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital (DSFH) announced its enrollment in the National
Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI®) program, the leading nursing
quality improvement and engagement tool. NDNQI tracks up to 19 nursing-
sensitive quality measures, providing actionable insights based on structure,
process and outcome data. It will help the hospital in reporting on unit-level
indicators aligned to nursing-sensitive measures to help achieve the highest
levels of performance. It will also help the hospital to compare performance to
benchmarks in various aspects of nursing care, outcomes, patient safety, and
nurse satisfaction.
"As a leading health care organization in the region, we are excited about
adopting this program as part of our nursing care model developed in 2014. We
look forward to start reporting through the NDNQI® platform to fully understand
essential nursing needs and preferences of our patients," said Rajaa Hammoud,
Chief of Nursing Officer. “We consider documenting how nursing care is provided
at DSFH as the most important part of our job and NDNQI® provides us with a
great platform to take this to another level by providing us with comparative data
on nursing care and the relationship to patient outcomes.” She continued, “As we
move forward, we will use this platform to enhance the interpretation of normative
comparisons and associated nursing-sensitive outcomes. We appreciate the
support of Health.Links for their guidance in our journey to more reliable
experience for our patients to improve the overall experience of care at DSFH."
Dr. Mazen Fakeeh, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors at DSFH
added, "This step is another key part to our sustainability strategy in practice. We
are always looking for new methods to help us stay true to our commitment to our
staff, patients and their families. This program will provide us with ongoing
support of comparisons, wide database, timely reports, research opportunities,
Nurses satisfaction survey, training and education in addition other substantial
benefits that all align with our strategy.”
Used by 2,000 hospitals in the United States, NDNQI® helps hospitals around
the world in providing patient and staffing outcomes, valid and reliable research
and data comparisons. Joining NDNQI guarantees participants a sustainable
improvement as it is always developing new indicators, training options,
educational materials and updating reports based on the annual input.
Organizations’ feedback helps NDNQI to guide product development and quality
improvement efforts.
