Aloe vera

  1.  Aloe-Vera is a very short succelent plant growing about 60-100 centimeteres in height.  The leaves are thick and fleshy.  Aloe-vera is a member of lily family.  It is a xerophyte so it prefers dry and arid conditions.  The flowers of Aloe vera are produced in summer.
  2. • Aloe-vera is used in traditional medicine as a multipurpose skin treatment.  It also helps to treat fungal and viral infections.  Aloe vera is rich in amino acids and fatty acids which helps in reducing the symptoms of allergies.  Aloe vera is also rich in vitamins and minerals.  It is a disinfectant ,Anti-microbial as it prevents the growth of disease causing microbes thus eliminating many internal and external infections.
  3.  Aloe is used to effectively heal chronic skin problems, such as acne and eczema.  It also improves natural skin’s firmness and keeps the skin hydrated.  It also helps to speed up healing of open wounds.  It also restores shine to hair ,skin and nails.  It heals sunburns and eliminates dandruff.  It is also used to control hairfall.
  4.  Aloe vera is native to Africa.it is also found in West Indies, the Middle East and Australia .  Aloe vera is grown worldwide in temperate climate.it is also grown widely as an ornamental plant.  There are around 400 species of Aloe.  The lower leaf of the plant is used for medicinal purpose. If the lower leaf is sliced open, the gel obtained can be applied on the affected area of the skin. Leaves and seeds are the two edible parts of Aloe Vera.
