Scope of this project is to provide the Product Information Management (PIM) solution for
managing product information. To provide a centralized repository with processes to support the
management and standardization of product information. Mastering the reference data of the
bank and syndicating to multiple channels for their consumption at the end of day. There are
several business units in the bank which requires PIM solutions that centralize and optimize the
product data. Existing application is not providing enough flexibility to the business users and is
not giving a single view of product data. Each unit is coming as 1 project with own set of

The product is a Weblogic portal based 3-Tier Application which uses WLP, ALSB and WLI
as different Tiers. The chassis is an IT platform that was developed to insulate key
distribution functionality from different channels and application system. eChassis provides a
platform for Zurich to offer its individual Financial Advisors as the ability to perform Quote,
Apply and other functionalities through eChassis portal. The application provides a front end
for global life application across Zurich global entities in all regional hubs using UK eChassis
as the base. The Application also supports 3rd party portals to generate quotes. The chassis
supports products termed as Protections, Investments, International portfolio bonds and Plan
Enquiry and Servicing (PES).
Role & Responsibilities:
• Worked as a production support engineer in Zurich GLF, eChassis project.
• Handled several applications like Bond, Mutual fund, PES (plan enquiry servicing) and
IPB (International Portfolio Bond).

Project Description:
XES is an integrated part of Fidelity suite of Financial Products i.e. Enterprise Banking Solutions
(EBS) strategy. The Express Enterprise Services (XES) is a middleware which is IFX compliant
where it can talk to multiple back ends that includes databases, mainframe systems across an
enterprise-computing environment. This product has been developed using Services Oriented
Architecture (SOA). The XES 3.0 has served as the foundation of Fidelity Information Services.
EBS strategy and ultimately driving all Products within an enterprise to get integrated using a
single Middleware that is XES 3.0
Any Channel can call XES services through a web service/HTTP/TCP calls based on their
requirements. The execution of an XES service includes a chain of filters which will be invoked by
the Business Object Container. The business logic is implemented as a service and it is the last
of the filters that are to be executed by the Business Object Container. The filters include Security
Filter (for user authentication), XML binding filter (to bind the incoming XML request to the JAXB
object) etc. Current version of XES that we are working is 3.1

• Understand the user requirements and prepare High level, Detailed level design
Creating/updating the IFX schemas
• Customizing the XES services according to the Bank’s requirements.
• Handling the channel support team for giving support to front end or channel team on the
issues or clarifications. If any defects are encountered while giving support for the XES

complete process involved in the XES

The primary objective of this project is to develop IFX Message
Wrappers to ESL Services. The ESL services to be addressed are not being replaced- the IFX
wrapper services to be created must invoke the business logic of the ESL services. The reason
being that Channels applications using these FIS middleware services must be able to generate
IFX requests and, in turn, receive back IFX responses for these services. The IFX wrapper must
perform a translation that will invoke the business logic of the embedded ESL service.

The Express Enterprise Services (XES) is a middleware which is IFX compliant where it can talk to multiple back ends that includes databases, mainframe systems across an enterprise-computing environment. This product has been developed using Services Oriented Architecture (SOA). The XES 3.0 has served as the foundation of Fidelity Information Services. EBS strategy and ultimately driving all Products within an enterprise to get integrated using a single Middleware that is XES 3.0 Any Channel can call XES services through a web service/HTTP/TCP calls based on their requirements. The execution of an XES service includes a chain of filters which will be invoked by the Business Object Container. The business logic is implemented as a service and it is the last of the filters that are to be executed by the Business Object Container.
