Hispanic.7 students in the class have mild to severe ADHD.

S: My class of first grade students will enumerate the months of the year in sequential order by
viewing a video, categorizing them into the different seasons using the Smart Board, watching
Vokis, doing a hands-on activity, and finally demonstrating the different months in their own
calendar to a group of classmates due by the end of the week with 95% accuracy.

S: Media that will be used is audio/video, Voki, Smart Board, and show-and-tell (seasons,
student calendars).

U: When introducing each of these materials have clear expectations and directions.

Split students into groups
Use class time on Friday for presentations
R: All activities will require some type of student participation, but when introducing the
months teacher will use the different images that represent the months clearly explaining why it
represents said month.
Video: Will be played few times, teacher will have different images in hand and will
raise them when the month is shown. Once students seem to begin to catch on the teacher will
give each student an image and ask them to do the same. After a few more times the teacher will
ask students to organize themselves in sequential order by their image. (Students will hand back
images and each day will receive a different one. After day one, video will be played 4 times per
day, twice before starting new lesson, and twice after finishing. Also once a day students will
have to rearrange themselves in sequential order by image.)
Voki: As a short introduction to season play a Voki introducing each season listing the
months in that season. Stop between each one, and ask students what they know about that
season or what their favorite thing to do during that time of year is.
Seasons: Students will begin to organize the months into seasons. During the video that
morning the teacher will hold up the different labeled images of the seasons during the months of
its time. Next, when the students arrange themselves in order teacher will walk through and
explain the seasons through the months (because of where they live the students experience all 4
seasons and are familiar with them). Next, with the images taped to the wall the students will be
asked to go to the season their month in hand is in. will have snow mix, flowers, beach ball, and
leaves ready. Carefully explaining the different seasons using the four props and passing them
around the room, the teacher will verbally quiz the students on the months. At the end of lesson
students will be asked to arrange their image by season without the video.
Smart Board: Using the Smart Board students will sort the different months into
seasons. Each child will be given a turn, and they should preform accurately.
Calendar: Each student will make their own calendar with all twelve months writing in
the important things of each months, holidays, other students/family birthdays, and etc. They will
be in groups of 4 (one group will have 5), within their groups they will be able to ask eachother
questions, and assist each other in the making of the calendar. On Friday the students can
voluntary present it to class.

E: The students will mainly be evaluated by the Smart Board and their Calendar, but verbal
evaluating will take place every day, by asking students questions like:
If I was born the month after my mom and she was born in March, what month
was I born in?
Figure out the birthday months of the peers around you (3/4 other students) and
arrange yourselves in order, now find 5 new people, 6 new people, and so on until
the entire class is in order
If I was born in the fall what month could I be born in?
Who can tell me the month that comes before and after their birthday?
Oh no, I forgot who can tell me the month that comes after October?
Go to this side of the room if you were born in the months between April and
September, this side October to March
