Consortiums
• The effectiveness and efficiency of a country’s public
sector is vital to the success of the country
• Sound financial management, an efficient civil service
and administrative policy, efficient and fair collection
of taxes, etc. contribute to the good delivery of public
services
• The world bank is increasing its lending and advisory
support to government and also is engaged in
understanding what is working, what needs
improvement and what is missing
• Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) of world bank has
examined 4 areas: public financial management,
administrative and civil service, revenue
administration, anticorruption and transparancy
3. Consortium
• A group made up of two or more individuals, companies or
governments that work together toward achieving a
chosen objective.
• Each entity within the consortium is only responsible to the
group in respect to the obligations that are set out in the
consortium's contract.
• Several groups of North American colleges and universities
operate under consortiums. They share professors,
libraries,etc.
• 3 colleges of united states Bryn Mawr College, Haverford
college, Swarthmore college are in consortium
