question. Why ask me?”

93. HOW TO IMPROVE
Surround yourself with English.
Listen to music. Watch movies/TV show. Sing along to songs you like,
and learn dialogues by heart. This will introduce you to real, spoken
English, rather than English from a textbook.
понедельник, 17 декабря 12 г.
94. HOW TO IMPROVE
Learn Phrases, not words.
If you learn the entire English dictionary, you might understand people,
but you won’t be able to speak to them. If you learn phrases, it will teach
you how these words work together.
понедельник, 17 декабря 12 г.
95. HOW TO IMPROVE
Practice speaking what you hear.
Perhaps you have heard the expression, “Practice makes perfect.” As my
music teacher used to say, this phrase is incomplete. Perfect practice
makes perfect. To use correct English, you must practice using correct
English. And simply listening to correct English will not make you speak
correct English.
понедельник, 17 декабря 12 г.
96. HOW TO IMPROVE
Use what you know.
If you are uncomfortable using a certain tense or phrasing, then don’t
use it in conversation. Your first goal in speaking is to be understood. Try
to limit yourself to what you know. Then, as you become more
comfortable speaking, those other tenses/phrases will come naturally.
понедельник, 17 декабря 12 г.
97. HOW TO IMPROVE
Be excited/interested in learning and speaking.
To improve your English, you must enjoy learning it. In my experience
learning Russian, I best remember the words and phrases that I am
excited to learn. This is clear in my classes, as well. Students, who enjoy
coming to class and think English is fun, make more progress than those
who only study because they “need to”.
